Scots-Irish Fiddle Tunes- Jam Sessions

Post by telaquapacky »

I used to go to the Frog and Peach Pub in San Luis Obispo on alternate Wednesday nights. An odd bunch of fiddle, guitar, mandolin, penny whistle, recorder, bass, and myself on Banjo would assemble and play medleys, usually three songs apiece, of Scots-Irish Celtic fiddle tunes. Jigs, Reels, Waltzes, Hornpipes. I got together with some folks in Berkeley when I lived there to do the same thing, though the Berkeley group played some Old Time fiddle songs as well. I even found some people to play this stuff with when I lived in Africa. I also attend the Topanga Banjo Fiddle Contest when I can and jam with other people on these songs. Is there anyone here into this besides moi?
