Not sure why anyone would want to do this, but someone stole a 600 pound statue of Buddha from in front of a Japanese restaurant, and moved it to a park!! Maybe they thought the guy needed a change of scenery? Here is the full story:

Reading the article it seems it was Shakamuni Buddha that was stolen. it is the 'Laughing Buddha' the rotund jolly guy whos tummy gets rubbed .
