this is my school song and my personal favorite song:

You Get What You Give Lyrics

Artist(Band):New Radicals

Wake up kids

we got the dreamers disease

Age 14 they got you down on your knees

Souls polite, we're busy still saying please

Friendnemies, who, when you're down ain't your friend

Every night we smash their Mercedes-Benz

First we run; and then we laugh till we cry

But when the night is falling

and you cannot find the light, light

You feel your dreams are dying

Hold tight

Chorus:

You've got the music in you

Don't let go

You've got the music in you

One dance left

This world is gonna pull through

Don't give up

You've got a reason to live

Can't forget

We only get what we give

I'm coming home baby

You're tops, Give it to me now

Four a.m. we ran a miracle mile

we're flat broke but hey we do it in style

The bad rich

God's flying in for your trial

But when the night is falling

You cannot find a friend, friend

You feel your tree is breaking

Just bend

(chorus)

This whole damn world can fall apart

It'll be ok, follow your heart

You're in harms way I'm right behind

Now say you're mine

(chorus)

Don't let go

I feel the music in you, you, you YOU!

Fly high

What's lived can't die

You only get what you give

You gonna get what you give

Just don't be afraid to live

Health insurance rip off lying

FDA big bankers buying

Fake computer crashes dining

Cloning while they're multiplying

Fashion shoots with Beck and Hanson

Courtney Love, and Marilyn Manson

You're all fakes

Run to your mansions

Come around

We'll kick your asses!

Don't let go

One dance left
All the world's a stage and the men and women merely players...Shakespeare

Abstracted from "An Evening Wasted With Tom Lehrer": Clementine, to a well-known Gilbert and Sullivan tune:

That I missed her depressed her young sister named Esther,

This mister to pester she tried.

Now her pestering sister's a festering blister,

You're best to resist her, say I.

The mister resisted, the sister persisted,

I kissed her, all loyalty slipped.

When she said I could have her, her sister's cadaver

Must surely have turned in its crypt.

I'm bumping this baby. :guitarist

Cannonball - Damien Rice

There's still a little bit of your taste in my mouth

There's still a little bit of you laced with my doubt

It's still a little harder to say what's going on

There's still a little bit of your ghost, your witness

There's still a little bit of your face, I haven't kissed

You step a little closer each day

That I can't see what's going on

Stones taught me to fly

Love, it taught me to lie

Life, it taught me to die

So it's not hard to fall

When you float like a cannonball

There's still a little bit of your song in my ear

There's still a little bit of your words I long to hear

You step a little closer to me

So close that I can't see what's going on

Stones taught me to fly

Love, it taught me to lie

Life, it taught me to die

So it's not hard to fall

When you float like a cannon-

Stones taught me to fly

Love, it taught me to cry

So come on courage

Teach me to be shy

'Cause it's not hard to fall

And I don't wanna scare her

It's not hard to fall

And I don't wanna lose

It's not hard to grow

When you know that you just don't know

*****

This Night - Billy Joel

Didn't I say

I wasn't ready for a romance

Didn't we promise

We would only be friends

And so we danced

Though it was only a slow dance

I started breaking my promises

Right there and then

Didn't I swear

There would be no complications

Didn't you want

Someone who's seen it all before

Now that you're here

It's not the same situation

Suddenly I don't remember the rules anymore

This night is mine

It's only you and I

Tomorrow

Is a long time away

This night can last forever

I've been around

Someone like me should know better

Falling in love

Would be the worst thing I could do

Didn't I say

I needed time to forget her

Aren't you running from someone

Who's not over you

How many nights

Have I been lonely without you

I tell myself

How much I really don't care

How many nights

Have I been thinking about you

Wanting to hold you

But knowing you would not be there

This night

You're mine

It's only you and I

I'll tell you

To forget yesterday

This night we are together

This night

Is mine

It's only you and I

Tomorrow

Is such a long time away

This night can last forever

Tomorrow

Is such a long time away

*****

Solsbury Hill - Peter Gabriel

Climbing up on Solsbury Hill

I could see the city light

Wind was blowing, time stood still

Eagle flew out of the night

He was something to observe

Came in close, I heard a voice

Standing stretching every nerve

Had to listen had no choice

I did not believe the information

I just had to trust imagination

My heart going boom boom boom

"Son," he said "Grab your things,

I've come to take you home."

To keepin' silence I resigned

My friends would think I was a nut

Turning water into wine

Open doors would soon be shut

So I went from day to day

Tho' my life was in a rut

"Till I thought of what I'd say

Which connection I should cut

I was feeling part of the scenery

I walked right out of the machinery

My heart going boom boom boom

"Hey" he said "Grab your things

I've come to take you home."

When illusion spin her net

I'm never where I want to be

And liberty she pirouette

When I think that I am free

Watched by empty silhouettes

Who close their eyes but still can see

No one taught them etiquette

I will show another me

Today I don't need a replacement

I'll tell them what the smile on my face meant

My heart going boom boom boom

"Hey" I said "You can keep my things,

they've come to take me home."

& so so many more...

As sung by Jo Cocker................

Up Where We Belong

(Nitzche/Jennings/Sainte-Marie)

WHO KNOWS WHAT TOMORROW BRINGS

IN A WORLD WHERE FEW HEARTS SURVIVE

ALL I KNOW IS THE WAY I FEEL

WHEN ITS REAL I LEEP IT ALIVE

THE ROAD IS LONG THERE ARE MOUNTAINS IN THE WAY

LOVE LIFT US UP WHERE WE BELONG

WHERE THE EAGLES FLY ON A MOUNTAN HIGH

LOVE LIFT US UP WHERE WE BELONG

FAR FROM THE WORLD BELOW

WHERE THE CLEAR WINDS BLOW

SOME HANG ON TO USUED TO BE

LIVE THERE LIFE LOOKING BEHIND

ALL WE HAVE IS HERE AND NOW

ALL OUR LIVES OUT THERE TO FIND

THE ROAD IS LONG AND THERE ARE MOUNTAINS IN MY WAY

BUT WE CLIMB THE STAIRS EVERYDAY

CHORUS

TIME GOES BY NO TIME TO CRY

JUST YOU AND I ALONE

And this one too...also Jo Cocker....

You Are So Beautiful

(B.Preston/Fisher)

YOU ARE SO BEAUTIFUL TO ME

YOU ARE SO BEAUTIFUL TO ME

CAN'T YOU SEE

YOUR EVERYTHING I HOPED FOR

YOUR EVERYTHING I NEED

YOU ARE SO BEAUTIFUL TO ME

SUCH JOY AND HAPPINESS YOU BRING

SUCH JOY AND HAPPINESS YOU BRING

LIKE A DREAM

A GUIDING LIGHT THAT SHINES IN THE NIGHT

HEAVENS GIFT TO ME

YOU ARE SO BEAUTIFUL TO ME
A smile is a window on your face to show your heart is home

I love this song

Shipbuilding - Elvis Costello

Is it worth it?

A new winter coat and shoes for the wife

And a bicycle on the boy's birthday

It's just a rumour that was spread around town

By the women and children

Soon we'll be shipbuilding.......

Well I ask you

The boy said "Dad they're going to take me to task, but I'll be back by Christmas"

It's just a rumour that was spread around town

Somebody said that someone got filled in

For saying that people get killed in

The result of this shipbuilding

With all the will in the world

Diving for dear life

When we could be diving for pearls

It's just a rumour that was spread around town

A telegram or a picture postcard

Within weeks they'll be re-opening the shipyards

And notifying the next of kin

Once again

It's all we're skilled in

We will be shipbuilding........

With all the will in the world

Diving for dear life

When we could be diving for pearls.

Here's one for Chonsi

LAKOTA

I am Lakota!

Lakota!

Looking at money man-

Diggin' the deadly quotas-

Out of balance-

Out of hand

We want the land!

Lay down the reeking ore!

Don't you hear the shrieking in the trees?

Everywhere you touch the earth-she's sore

Every time you skin her all things weep

Your money mocks us-

Restitution-what good can it do?-

Kennelled in metered boxes

Red dogs in debt to you

I am Lakota!

Lakota!

Fighting among ourselves

All we can say with one whole heart

Is we won't sell-

No we'll never sell

We want the land!

The lonely coyote calls

In the woodlands-footprints of the deer

In the barrooms-poor drunk bastard falls

In the courtrooms-deaf ears-sixty years

You think we're sleeping-but

Quietly like rattlesnakes and stars

We have seen the trampled rainbows

In the smoke of cars

[Chorus:]

I am Lakota

Brave

Sun pity me

I am Lakota

Broken

Moon pity me

I am Lakota

Grave

Shadows stretching

Lakota

Oh pity me

I am Lakota

Weak

Grass pity me

I am Lakota

Faithful

Rocks pity me

I am Lakota

Meek

Standing water

Lakota

Oh pity me

I am Lakota!

Lakota!

Standing on sacred land

We never sold these Black Hills

To the missile-heads-

To the power plants

We want the land!

The bullet and the fence-broke Lakota

The black coats and the booze-broke Lakota

Courts that circumvent-choke Lakota

Nothing left to lose

Tell me grandfather

You spoke the fur and feather tongues-

Do you hear the whimpering waters

When the tractors come?

[Chorus]

Sun pity me

Mother earth

Mother

Moon pity me

Father sky

Father

Shadows

Stretching on the forest floor

Mother earth

Oh pity me

Father sky

Father

Grass pity me

Mother earth

Mother

Rocks pity me

Father sky

Father

Water

Standing in a wakan manner

Mother earth

Oh pity me

Gosh Uncle Kram, that's some song. Wish I could hear the music of it. Really gets to me. Is Chonsi Lakota? I have a friend with Cherokee blood.

I know Chonsi has a desire to write about the American Indians and thought she might not have seen them. Their plight is a recurring theme in several of Joni Mitchells songs, but this song from Chalkmark in a Rainstorm captures it for me

Oh Unc', that is so moving. It sadly sings of the loss of their land, their pride and their heritage, their lives. The chorus is so dramatic:

[Chorus]

Sun pity me

Mother earth

Mother

Moon pity me

Father sky

Father

Shadows

Stretching on the forest floor

Mother earth

Oh pity me

Father sky

Father

Grass pity me

Mother earth

Mother

Rocks pity me

Father sky

Father

Water

Standing in a wakan manner

Mother earth

Oh pity me

Thank you for posting this, Unc'.:-4

OOH MrsK I love Boz Scaggs saw him in concert in the early 70's.

Here's my fave of his:

Artist - Boz Scaggs

Album - Various Songs

Lyrics - Somebody Loan Me A Dime

Somebody loan me a dime,

I need to call my old time, used to be.

Somebody loan me a dime,

Mmm, I need to call my old time, used to be.

Oooo, little girl's been gone so long,

You know it's worryin me.

Hey, it's worryin, worryin me.

I know she's a good girl,

But, at that time I just didn't understand.

I know she's a good girl,

But, at that time I just didn't understand.

Oh, you know I didn't.

Somebody loan me a dime,

You know I need, I need a helpin hand.

Somebody.

Yeah, she's a good girl,

But, at that time I just didn't understand.

Oooo, I know she's a good girl,

But, at that time I just could not understand.

Whoa, no.

Somebody better loan me that dime,

To ease my worried mind.

Whoo.

Now, I cried, just cried,

Just like a baby, all night long.

Ooo, you know I cried, just cried,

Just like a baby, all night long.

Whooo, somebody better loan me that dime,

I need my baby, I need my baby here at home.

Oooo, yeah.

I haven't heard that in years! I think I have it on a disc somewhere. I'll have to dig it out. It featured the incredible guitar work of Duane Allman. I saw Boz Scaggs perform it on TV -- I think it was about a year ago. It just didn't have the grit or emotion of the original recording, but it was still kind of cool to see him sing it.

this song i'd like to dedicate to bullet and babyrider - who i understand are getting married . THANK YOU

If the sun refused to shine,

I would still be loving you.

When mountains crumble to the sea,

There will still be you and me.

Kind woman, I give you my all,

Kind woman, nothing more.

Little drops of rain whisper of the pain,

Tears of loves lost in the days gone by.

My love is strong, with you there is no wrong,

Together we shall go until we die.

My, my, my,

An inspiration is what you are to me,

Inspiration, look see.

And so today, my world it smiles,

Your hand in mine, we walk the miles,

Thanks to you it will be done,

For you to me are the only one.

Happiness, no more be sad,

Happiness....I'm glad.

If the sun refused to shine,

I would still be loving you.

When mountains crumble to the sea,

There will still be you and me.

Tom Paxton...

How can you do it? It's heartless, it's cruel, it's murder cold-blooded, it's gross

To slay a poor vegetable just for your stew or to serve with some cheese sauce on toast.

Have you no decency? Have you no shame? Have you no conscience, you cad

To rip that poor vegetable out of the earth away from its poor mom and dad?

Oh, no, don't slay that potato! Let us be merciful, please.

Don't boil it or fry it, don't even freeze-dry it.

Don't dice it or flake it. For God's sake, don't bake it!

Don't shed the poor blood of that poor helpless spud.

It's the worst kind of thing you could do.

Oh, no, don't slay that potato what never done nothing to you!

Why not try picking on something your size instead of some carrot or bean?

The peas are all trembling there in their pod just because you're so vicious and mean!

How would you like to be grabbed by your hair and be ruthlessly yanked from your bed

And have done to you God knows what horrible things, to be eaten with full-fiber bread?

It's no bed of roses, this vegetable life, you're basically stuck in the mud,

You don't get around much. You don't see the sights when you're a carrot or celery or spud.

You're helpless when somebody's flea-bitten dog takes a notion to pause for relief,

Then somebody picks you and cleans you and eats you and causes you nothing but grief.

There ought to be some way of saving our skins, they ought to be passing a law.

Just show anybody a cute little lamb and they'll all stand around and go "Aw!"

Well potatoes are ugly, potatoes are plain, we're wrinkled and lumpy to boot,

But give me a break, kid, do you mean to say that you'll eat us because we're not cute?

Last night I broke the seal on a Jim Beam decanter

That looks like Elvis

I soaked the label off a Flintstone Jelly Bean jar

I cleared us off a place on that one little table

that you left us

And pulled me up a big ole piece of floor

I pulled the head off Elvis

Filled Fred up to his pelvis

Yabba Dabba Doo, the King is gone

And so are you

'Round about 10 we all got to talking

'Bout Graceland, Bedrock and such

The conversation finally turned to women

But they said they didn't get around too much

Elvis said, "Find 'em young"

And Fred said "Old Fashioned girls are fun"

Yabba Dabba Doo, the King is gone

And so are you

Later on it finally hit me

That you wouldn't be 'a comin' home no more

'Cause this time I know you won't forgive me

Like all of them other times before

Then I broke Elvis' nose

Pouring the last drop from his toes

Yabba Dabba Doo, the King is gone

And so are you

Yabba Dabba Doo, theKing is gone

And so are you

Led Zeppelin- Fool in the Rain

(Jones/Page/Plant)

Oh, baby

Well there's a light in your eye that keeps shining

Like a star that can't wait for a night

I hate to think I've been blinded baby

Why can't I see you tonight

And the warmth of your smile starts a-burnin'

And the thrill of your touch gives me fright

And I'm shaking so much, really yearning

Why don't you show up, make it all right, yeah, it's all right, all right

And if you promised you'd love so completely

And you said you would always be true

You swore that you never would leave me, baby

What ever happened to you

And you thought it was only in movies

As you wish all your dreams would come true, hey

It ain't the first time believe me, baby

I'm standin' here feeling blue, blue

Ha, yeah, I'm blue, hoh, baby

Now I will stand in the rain on the corner

I'll watch the people go shuffling downtown

Another ten minutes no longer

And then I'm turning around, 'round

The clock on the wall's moving slower

Oh, my heart it sinks to the ground

And the storm that I thought would blow over

Clouds the light of the love that I found, found

Light of the love that I found

Light of the love that I found

Ohhhh, that I found

Hey babe

Oooh, hand that ticks on the clock

Just don't seem to stop

When I'm thinking it over

Oooh, tired of the light

I just don't seem to find

Have you wait, get away

Whoa oooh, I see it in my dreams

But I just don't seem to be with you

You I gotta get it all

Gotta get it all, gotta get it all

I've got to get all

(Guitar Solo)

Ooh, now my body is starting to quiver

And the palms of my hands getting wet, ohh

I've got no reason to doubt you baby

It's all a terrible mess

An' I'll run in the rain till I'm breathless

When I'm breathless I'll run till I drop, hey

The thoughts of a fool's kind of careless

I'm just a fool waiting on the wrong block, ohhhhhh yeah

Hey now, ohhhhhh-hoh

Light of the love that I found

Light of the love that I found

Light of the love that I

Light of the love that I found

Light of the love, hey now

Light of the love, hey now

Light of the love that I found

Light of the love that I found

Written and sung by the late Alex Glasgow:

Take a look at Lucy and you'll need no further proof

She's a manifest denial of the truth

Lovely little Lucy is surrounded by her lies

The uplift of her brassiere, the girdle round her thighs

Oh she's a liar, but I love the way she lies!

The lies begin upon her lips with artificial paint

Her raven hair looks natural, which it ain't!

She flashes her eyelashes in a most attractive way

It may not look untruthful but she bought them yesterday

Oh she's a liar, but I love the way she lies.

Lucy lies about her age, she lies about her weight

Lucy lies because she needs a mate

And Lucy's wise when Lucy lies cause Lucy's very sly

And Lucy's right, roll on tonight, together we will lie!

She's a liar, but I love the way she lies.

I know what today

oh, let’s simon’s say

I just know I do

so much head my flu

so sick, so so sick,

so sick, that is me.

I know what to do

all these things to you

want so much of you

know I do, I do

so sick, so so so sick,

that’s my name

all I want to do

is staying up with you

smoother hottest space

always kissing Kisser,

so sick, so so sick, so . . .

watch your wide eyes go.

Lovey Love I do so,

Lovely lover for you

so, so, so, so, so,

So.

On the sidewalk with you

so closer, closer still

Yes I will die for you

(2) joy is Me & You,

So Sick, that’s my name.

Mother, mother ocean

I have heard you call

Wanted to sail upon your waters

Since I was three feet tall

Cause you've seen it all

You've seen it all

I watched the men who rode you

They switched from sails to steam

And in your belly, you hold the treasures

Few have ever seen

Most of them are dreams

Most of them are dreams

Well, yes I am a pirate

A few hundred years to late

The cannons don't thunder

There's nothing to plunder

I'm an under forty victim of fate

Arriving too late

Arriving too late

I've done a bit of smuggling

Well, I've run my share of grass

I've made enough money to buy Miami

But I pissed it away so fast

It's never meant to last

It's never meant to last

Well, I've been drunk now for over two weeks

I've passed out and I've rallied and I've sprung a few leaks

But I've gotta stop wishin'

I've gotta go fishin'

Down to rock bottom again

With just a few friends

Just a few friends

With just a few friends

Just a few friends

You got a beatiful chin

You got beautiful skin

You got a beautiful face

You got taste

You got beautiful eyes

You got beautiful thighs

You got a lot without a doubt

But I'm thinkin' 'bout blowin' you out

Cos you won't stop talking

Why don't you give it a rest?

You got more rabbit than Sainsburys

Its time you got it off your chest

Now you was just the kind of girl to break my heart in two

I knew right off when I first set my eyes on you

But how was I to know you'd bend my earholes too

with your excessive talking

you're becoming a pest

rabbit rabbit rabbit...

Now you're a wonderful girl

you got a wonderful smell

you got wonderful arms

you got charms

You got wonderful hair

We make a wonderful pair

Now I don't mind havin' a chat

But you have to keep givin' it that

This was my "surprise" song that I dedicated to Bullet at our reception. So I'd have to say that it's my favorite right now.

Rascal Flatts

"Bless the Broken Road"

I set out on a narrow way many years ago

Hoping I would find true love along the broken road

But I got lost a time or two

Wiped my brow and kept pushing through

I couldn't see how every sign pointed straight to you

Every long lost dream led me to where you are

Others who broke my heart they were like northern stars

Pointing me on my way into your loving arms

This much I know is true

That God blessed the broken road

That led me straight to you

I think about the years I spent just passing through

I'd like to have the time I lost

and give it back to you

But you just smile and take my hand

You've been there you understand

It's all part of a grander plan that is coming true

Every long lost dream led me to where you are

Others who broke my heart they were like northern stars

Pointing me on my way into your loving arms

This much I know is true

That God blessed the broken road

That led me straight to you

Now I'm just rollin' home into my lover's arms

This much I know is true

That God blessed the broken road that led me straight to you
[FONT=Arial Black]I hope you cherish this sweet way of life, and I hope you know that it comes with a price.

Bullet's trial was a farce. Can I get an AMEN?????

We won't be punished for our sins, but BY them.

CREED

"My Own Prison"

A court is in session, a verdict is in

No appeal on the docket today

Just my own sin

The walls are cold and pale

The cage made of steel

Screams fill the room

Alone I drop and kneel

Silence now the sound

My breath the only motion around

Demons cluttering around

My face showing no emotion

Shackled by my sentence

Expecting no return

Here there is no penance

My skin begins to burn

(And I said oh) So I held my head up high

Hiding hate that burns inside

Which only fuels their selfish pride

(And I said oh) We're all held captive

Out from the sun

A sun that shines on only some

We the meek are all in one

I hear a thunder in the distance

See a vision of a cross

I feel the pain that was given

On that sad day of loss

A lion roars in the darkness

Only he holds the key

A light to free me from my burden

And grant me life eternally

Should have been dead

On a Sunday morning

Banging my head

No time for mourning

Ain't got no time

(And I said oh) So I held my head up high

Hiding hate that burns inside

Which only fuels their selfish pride

(And I said oh) We're all held captive

Out from the sun

A sun that shines on only some

We the meek are all in one

[Guitar break]

I cry out to God

Seeking only his decision

Gabriel stands and confirms

I've created my own prison

I cry out to God

Seeking only his decision

Gabriel stands and confirms

I've created my own prison

(And I said oh) So I held my head up high

Hiding hate that burns inside

Which only fuels their selfish pride

(And I said oh) We're all held captive

Out from the sun

A sun that shines on only some

We the meek are all in one

(And I said oh) So I held my head up high

Hiding hate that burns inside

Which only fuels their selfish pride

(And I said oh) We're all held captive

Out from the sun

A sun that shines on only some

We the meek are all in one

Should've been dead on a Sunday morning

banging my head

No time for mourning

Ain't got no time

From the eighteenth century's cobblestone streets

With the horse and the carriages to rest our feet

To the train and city tram came the birth of mechanical man

And with mechanical man came the automobile

Henry Ford's Model 'T' with an engine on wheels

And a crazy race began, with a car for every man

A limousine, hot rod, Beetle and a van, or maybe just an old sedan

We're heading for a great big worldwide traffic jam

With only red lights, green lights, yellow lights

To be our guiding hand

We're heading for a great big worldwide traffic jam

With all the hoots and the toots and the traffic brutes

To fill our loving land

I wonder who's gonna win this great big race

Mechanical man or the natural pace?

From the back seat Romeo in lover's lane

To the family car on a highway in Spain

There's a car for every need with the shape, the colour and speed

It's the twentieth century's technical toy

Full of buttons and dials, full of comfort and joy

But the number's going up - I wonder where it's gonna stop

The limousine, hot rod, Beetle and the van, It's gonna go way out of hand

For the world's getting smaller

And the time's getting shorter every day

Flash!

Saviour of the universe!

Flash!

He'll save every one of us!

Seemingly there is no reason for these

Extraordinary intergalactical upsets

What's happening Flash?

Only Dr. Hans Zarkov formerly at NASA

Has provided any explanation

Flash!

He's a miracle!

This mornings unprecedented solar eclipse

Is no cause for alarm

Flash!

King of the impossible!

He's for every one of us

Stand for every one of us

He'll save with a mighty hand

every man every woman every child

With a mighty flash

General Kaka! Flash Gordon approaching!

What do you mean Flash Gordon approaching?

Open fire!

All weapons!

Dispatch war rocket Ajax to bring back his body!

Flash!

Gordon's alive?

Flash!

He'll save every one of us!

Just a man with a man's courage

He knows

Nothing but a man but he can never fail

No one but the pure in heart

May find the golden grail oh oh oh oh

Flash! Flash, I love you

But we only have fourteen hours to save the Earth!

Out on the winding, windy moors we'd roll and fall in green

You had a temper like my jealousy, too hot, too greedy

How could you leave me when I needed to possess you?

I hated you, I loved you too

Bad dreams in the night

They told me I was going to lose the fight

Leave behind my wuthering wuthering wuthering heights

Heathcliff, its me, I'm Kathy, I've come home

I'm so cold, let me in your window

Heathcliff, its me, I'm Kathy, I've come home

I'm so cold, let me in your window

Ooh, it gets dark! it gets lonely on the other side from you

I pine a lot. I find the lot falls through without you

Im coming back love, cruel Heathcliff

My one dream, my only master

Too long I roam in the night

Im coming back to his side to put it right

Im coming home to wuthering wuthering wuthering heights

Heathcliff, its me, I'm Kathy, I've come home

I'm so cold, let me in your window

Heathcliff, its me, I'm Kathy, I've come home

I'm so cold, let me in your window

Ooh! let me have it, let me grab your soul away

Ooh! let me have it, let me grab your soul away

You know its me Kathy

Heathcliff, its me, I'm Kathy, I've come home

I'm so cold, let me in your window

Heathcliff, its me, I'm Kathy, I've come home

I'm so cold, let me in your window

Hello.

Is there anybody in there?

Just nod if you can hear me.

Is there anyone home?

Come on, now.

I hear youre feeling down.

Well I can ease your pain,

Get you on your feet again.

Relax.

I need some information first.

Just the basic facts:

Can you show me where it hurts?

There is no pain, you are receding.

A distant ships smoke on the horizon.

You are only coming through in waves.

Your lips move but I cant hear what youre sayin.

When I was a child I had a fever.

My hands felt just like two balloons.

Now I got that feeling once again.

I cant explain, you would not understand.

This is not how I am.

I have become comfortably numb.

Ok.

Just a little pinprick. [ping]

Therell be no more --aaaaaahhhhh!

But you may feel a little sick.

Can you stand up?

I do believe its working. good.

Thatll keep you going for the show.

Come on its time to go.

There is no pain, you are receding.

A distant ships smoke on the horizon.

You are only coming through in waves.

Your lips move but I cant hear what youre sayin.

When I was a child I caught a fleeting glimpse,

Out of the corner of my eye.

I turned to look but it was gone.

I cannot put my finger on it now.

The child is grown, the dream is gone.

I have become comfortably numb.

Gotta love the "Floyd" !!! :):)

Love this song Spot - the first time I ever heard or saw Kate Bush was on Newsnight when they did a feature on her when she burst onto the scene straight in at No.1 at the age of 17.

I seem to recall that she wrote this song when she was only 15 !

There are places I'll remember

All my life though some have changed

Some forever not for better

Some have gone and some remain

All these places have their moments

With lovers and friends I still can recall

Some are dead and some are living

In my life I've loved them all

But of all these friends and lovers

There is no one compares with you

And these memories lose their meaning

When I think of love as something new

Though I know I'll never lose affection

For people and things that went before

I know I'll often stop and think about them

In my life I love you more

Though I know I'll never lose affection

For people and things that went before

I know I'll often stop and think about them

In my life I love you more

In my life I love you more

Well, I thought - I hadn't considered the stylistic similarities before. It's a bit poppy for Mr Gabriel perhaps - but the I thought maybe, not impossible, we could at least ask him next time he's in the pub, he might have been there while it was happening. And after all that it turns out it was Flash Gordon instead - and no, the only real outside influence there was Brian Blessed.

I'll go find a sedative, the heat's getting to me.

OK--I have to do this:

First you get down on your knees,

Fiddle with your rosaries,

Bow your head with great respect,

And genuflect, genuflect, genuflect!

Do whatever steps you want, if

You have cleared them with the Pontiff.

Everybody say his own Kyrie Eleison,

Doin' the Vatican Rag.

Get in line in that processional,

Step into that small confessional,

There, the guy who's got religion'll

Tell you if your sin's original.

If it is, try playin' it safer,

Drink the wine and chew the wafer,

Two, four, six, eight,

Time to transubstantiate!

So get down upon your knees,

Fiddle with your rosaries,

Bow your head with great respect,

And genuflect, genuflect, genuflect!

Make a cross on your abdomen,

When in Rome do like a Roman,

Ave Maria, gee it's good to see ya',

Gettin' ecstatic an' sorta dramatic

Doin' the Vatican Rag!

(From the brilliant, sardonic mind of Tom Lehrer!)

She showed up at my house at half past nine

In a low-cut dress with a bottle of wine

She said this will be a night you won't forget

She poured us some drinks to get us into the mood

I reached for the lights, she reached for my tunes

She pulled out that Red Headed Stranger, I stood up and said

Don't touch my Willie

I don't know you that well

Help yourself to some Haggard or some Jones

Hell, or anybody else

I don't know what you heard

I ain't that kind of guy

Yeah so don't touch my Willie,

We'll get a long just fine

She said she never met a man like me in her life

Who wouldn't share his Willie on the very first night

I said it's nothing personal, don't take it so hard

I don't pull out my Willie for just anyone

There's a lot of other records that you can choose from

So let me make myself clear before you go too far

Don't touch my Willie

I don't know you that well

Help yourself to some Haggard or some Jones

Hell, or anybody else

I don't know what you heard

I ain't that kind of guy

Yeah so don't touch my Willie,

We'll get a long just fine

Keep your hands off my Willie,

We'll get along just fine

I'M MY OWN GRANDPA

It sounds funny, I know,

But it really is so,

Oh, I'm my own grandpa.

I'm my own grandpa.

I'm my own grandpa.

It sounds funny, I know,

But it really is so,

Oh, I'm my own grandpa.

Now many, many years ago, when I was twenty-three,

I was married to a widow who was pretty as could be.

This widow had a grown-up daughter who had hair of red.

My father fell in love with her, and soon they, too, were wed.

This made my dad my son-in-law and changed my very life,

My daughter was my mother, cause she was my father's wife.

To complicate the matter, even though it brought me joy,

I soon became the father of a bouncing baby boy.

My little baby then became a brother-in-law to Dad,

And so became my uncle, though it made me very sad.

For if he was my uncle, then that also made him brother

Of the widow's grown-up daughter, who, of course, was my stepmother.

Father's wife then had a son who kept him on the run,

And he became my grandchild, for he was my daughter's son.

My wife is now my mother's mother, and it makes me blue,

Because, although she is my wife, she's my grandmother, too.

Now if my wife is my grandmother, then I'm her grandchild,

And everytime I think of it, it nearly drives me wild,

For now I have become the strangest case you ever saw

As husband of my grandmother, I am my own grandpa!

I'm my own grandpa.

I'm my own grandpa.

It sounds funny, I know, but it really is so,

Oh, I'm my own grandpa.

Nightswimming by R.E.M.

Nightswimming deserves a quiet night.

The photograph on the dashboard, taken years ago,

Turned around backwards so the windshield shows.

Every streetlight reveals the picture in reverse.

Still, it's so much clearer.

I forgot my shirt at the water's edge.

The moon is low tonight.

Nightswimming deserves a quiet night.

I'm not sure all these people understand.

It's not like years ago,

The fear of getting caught,

Of recklessness and water.

They cannot see me naked.

These things, they go away,

Replaced by everyday.

Nightswimming, remembering that night.

September's coming soon.

I'm pining for the moon.

And what if there were two

Side by side in orbit

Around the fairest sun?

That bright, tight forever drum

Could not describe nightswimming.

You, I thought I knew you.

You I cannot judge.

You, I thought you knew me,

this one laughing quietly underneath my breath.

Nightswimming.

The photograph reflects,

Every streetlight a reminder.

Nightswimming deserves a quiet night, deserves a quiet night.
