If I remember right, custom avatars can be uploaded by subscribing members. They have to be no larger than 100x100 pixels or 24.4kB, and the upload command is on the forumgarden My Settings control panel under Edit Avatar.

I'm a subscribing member, and on that page I can see:

Use Custom Avatar

You may upload a new custom image using the controls below. Either enter the URL to the image you wish to use, or use the upload control to upload an image directly from your own computer.

Enter Avatar URL:

Upload an Avatar From Your Computer:

Note: The maximum size of your custom image is 100 by 100 pixels or 24.4 KB (whichever is smaller).

memberI doubt whether the site can take credit cards - I'm wading too deep here, I might be terminated with prejudice at this rate.

If you go to www.paypal.com and set up a standard electronic transfer account it doesn't require you to have a credit card, it can take authorised payments from any check account that's capable of supporting a direct debit instruction. I've made payments across the Internet that way for years without any problem, including my subscription here.

Hi Bes!! Welcome to FG!!

To be a supporting member is very inexpensive. I spent $17 US to have a full year. There's also a six month and a two year subscription. It's nice to have the space for 4,000 PM's!! I never have to empty my PM box anymore!!
