Almonds, Brazil Nuts, Cashews, Pistachios, Pine Nuts, Coconuts and Peanuts are NOT actually nuts.

Almonds, Brazil Nuts, Cashews, Pistachios and Pine Nuts are all seeds.

Coconuts are a drupe (a type of fruit).

Peanuts are both a legume (also a type of fruit) and a seed.

I love useless information. :D

Q. If you were to spell out numbers, how far would you have to go until you would find the letter "A"?

A. One thousand.

Many years ago in Scotland, a new game was invented.

It was ruled "Gentlemen Only...Ladies Forbidden"...and thus the word GOLF entered into the English language. My how things have changed since then!

On average, 12 newborns will be given to the wrong parents daily

A raisin dropped in a fresh glass of soda will bounce up and down continually from the bottom of the glass to the top

Ketchup was sold in the 1830s as medicine

Winston Churchill was born in a ladies' room during a dance.

In most advertisements, the time displayed on a watch is 10:10.

The giant squid has the largest eyes in the world.

The microwave was invented after a researcher walked by a radar tube and a chocolate bar melted in his pocket. (Wonder what it did to his liver?) That researcher also invented microwave popcorn.

315 entries in the 1996 edition of Webster's dictionary were misspelled.

Three quarters, four dimes, and four pennies equals $1.19. That's the largest amount of change you can have and not be able to make change for a dollar.

Things that were never said, contrary to popular belief:

"Elementary, my dear Watson."

"Beam me up, Scotty."

"Play it again, Sam." (not in Casablanca, anyway...it was in a Marx Brothers movie, however)

"We don' need no steenkeenk badges!" (that's a misquote - the line is: "Badges? We ain't got no badges. We don't need no badges. I don't have to show you any stinkin' badges!" )

Joe Friday never said, "Just the facts, ma'am."
Do not meddle in the affairs of dragons, for you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup.

I swear by my life - and my love of it - that I will never live for the sake of another man, nor ask another man to live for mine. ~Ayn Rand
