Someone wanted some controversy? Here ya go:

Post by BabyRider »

As many of you know, Bullet is going to trial for that incident back last July. For those who don't, I'll direct you to the thread, I can't post the whole story here all over again.

(By the way, are any of you sick of me talking about Bullet? I can take it if you say "yes." I hate annoying people, usually.)

Anyway, the dope dealer that was killed will become a statistic as a "child" who was killed by a gun. He was 20 years old and the way the number crunchers create the stats, anyone 20 or younger is considered a "child." I suppose if he'd been busted for dealing his dope, though, he'd be charged as an adult, right?

Whadda ya think?

Not going to be controversial, because I agree with your thinking. When minors commit crimes these days, the prosocuters go for the harshest sentence. This usually means charging them as adults.

You'll have to direct me to the post. I dont know what is going on. I just remember Bullet shooting someone in self defense and that is all I know. Sorry. It is a shame how the law works isnt it? If you are doing something bad you are an adult, if you;re not you're a child.

Come ON, Snoozie, tell us how you REALLY feel!! ;)

I personally think it's absurd. I didn't know at 20 what I know now, who

does? But to say that this guy was a child is out and out ridiculous.

Maybe the whole system needs a reshuffle same as it does here:-6
I only wish it were a joke, MrsK. When the number of child deaths by a gun for 2005 come out, they will include any and everyone 20 and under. It's a very sneaky way for the liberals and gun control freaks to make their numbers higher, and people accept them at face value and do no research to find facts.

The sheer irony is heart-wrenching.

Worse yet, I'm betting the prosecutor will not let a single opportunity go by to call the aggressor (notice I didn't say victim) "a child.":(

So, I guess if you are a "child" between 18 and 20 then we have

"CHILDREN" voting?

Once you turn 14 you pay adult prices at the movies,go figure.:wah: :wah:

No wonder I am dazed & confused like many others:-6

Is this just in your state? That's weird, I have a neighbor who might know about that, he works in a juvenile detention facility.

Like I said, it's simply a dirty, underhanded way for the anti-gun lobby to create the image of larger numbers of children being killed by guns.

And Jives, if that m*****-********** prosecutor uses the phrase "child" even once, the court room is going to go berserk. It will be FULL of our family and all the brothers, both Liberty Riders and Blue Angels alike, probably some Vigilantes, too.

Our lawyer is smart, though, he'll refute the use of the word child by maintaining that had he been busted for dealing crack, he'd be tried as the adult he IS. Or....was....

Nope. This age limitaion is restricted to the deaths by guns. And people wonder why I go so ape-$h!t over gun control laws.

I think 14 means adult prices in cinemas etc.. But I know that in the whole of Australia, Maxi, an 18 year old can enter into a contract, have consensual sex, drink legally in a pub, die for his/her country, get married and must receive adult wages. He/she must also register to vote and, if there is an election, is obliged to do so. Full adult privileges and responsibilities.

As you say, BR, those statistics are politically motivated.
