I'll say one thing for L. R. Hubbard, he sure got very rich from a lot of folks while he continued to live in international waters. Why wasn't I smart enough to think of that. Perhaps my conscience is different from his.

Did he write Dianetics or was it Diuretics?

No, Val, you've got it confused....that's what he said while he was trying to impregnate the impending Mommy: "Work, dammit....WORK!!!"

I was just reading my home page news and it says that Tom is holding SEMINARS to educate the family!! Can you even imagine? "Hey, Mom, I would like you to come over tonight so that I can teach you about childbirth and childrearing."

If I was Katie, I would run like hell! Although that probably would have been easier before she got huge.

I loved this part of the article:

"Cruise says his children, 11-year-old Connor and 13-year-old Isabella _ from his marriage to Nicole Kidman _ will help take care of the baby.

"The kids will have different responsibilities and run in shifts. They're going to help on every level," he tells the magazine."

Tom Cruise is a monster. This fact hits home every time he flashes those vampire teeth and glazed and dazed eyes. A small man... he runs around swinging his penis like a lariat...... bringing in victims who do not see beyond his being a has been celebrity. God help his new enamored (temporarily) wife, and innocent baby.

* No offense to short men. I mean it in the context if his suffering from the napolean complex.

Hopefully, when the time comes... this poor woman will be able to get away also.

Unfortunately, he will be so pissed off the second time.. that he will give her a much harder time. Her family must be frightened and heart broken.

I don't think she has no choice. She's not exactly powerless.

I will be boycotting Mission Impossible and anything else to do with Cruise. This man is a danger to his kids as well as others since he DOES have so much influence. I hope to see the day he is brought to his knees.

One of my favorite movies is "A Few Good Men" and I purchased it long before Tom started jumping on couches and ranting about depression and such. I would really like to get "Top Gun" on DVD but refuse to buy anything with Tom in it anymore.

Back in the day, when Tom was simply one heck of an actor, he seemed like a really nice guy. But now that he is a "Super Star" and thinks that he knows soooo much more than everyone else - I could care less about his opinion on things outside of his profession.

If some folks want to swallow the hogwash of Scientology let them have it. It sure isn't for me.

Come off it. It's no more bizarre than any other religious cult. So long as they don't insist everybody believes as they do or want laws passed to stop people taking the mickey out of their weird religon or try and change the education system so that their ridiculous beliefs get taught in the schools as of equal standing in science classes then good luck to them. At least they don't try and manipulate poor people just rich dafties with no common sense.

Just because you think someones beliefs are daft doesn't mean you have the right to stop them practising. Each to their own.

Six is correct.

Scientologists have infiltrated government agencies to steal documents, they use pressure tactics on their opponents and critics.

Walk past their Canadian HQ on Yonge St. in Toronto. There is often a cadre of their automatons on the street, trying to get passersby into the building. I've had a few sweet exchanges with these dull eyed minions in the past, including a demand that they refund my nine bucks for "Battlefield Earth". (I didn't actually see it, but it's lovely and so bloody easy to take the mick out of a Scientologist ! :yh_bigsmi )

"Operation Clambake" is an organisation that has been debunking Scientology for years, despite the grief they get from Hubbard's whackos. Their site has lots of info, and exposes Scientology secrets:

Just like every religious cult you mean. (actually is it a religious cult if they don't believe in god?-do they believe in god? do I care?) At least they don't have people being decapitated on prime time television or bomb abortion clinics.

If you're going to attack strange beliefs how about the religon where millions of followers buy easter eggs to give to their children in memory of their religons founder and his rising from the dead. Then there's the one about how the planet earth was made in seven days. Or the one about how a carpenter's son turned water in to non alcoholic wine (can't remember what denomimation the teetotal christian that told me that one was but I offended him deeply by laughing at what i thought was quite a good witticism))

Give me the cosmic comedian every time-Life's a joke we just don't know the punchline.

While I don't personally care about Mr. Cruise or his personal beliefs, the fact of the matter is that, to young people today, he is someone to look up to and emulate.

In this day and age where both parents work, our entertainment icons are in a position to teach our children their beliefs. Just look at the number of young girls trying desperately to look like Brittany Spears, Jessica Simpson or that Hilton girl. A whole generation of women finally realizing that it is ok to be smart and show it and someone comes along that shows our daughter's that you can get rich if you don't know that Chicken of the Sea is tuna and not chicken.

And then Tom comes along and spouts off tha Post Partum Depression can be overcome by diet and exercise. I am sure that Andrea Yate's family is comforted to know that it wasn't a lack of medication that cost her 5 children their lives.

Take your point but I don't think it's any worse than any of the other nutty cults that are around. I don't like the rise of religious fanaticism of all types that seems to be on the rise with religious groups feeling they have the right to demand respect from those that don't believe as they do and start interfering with the way people lead their lives. We need to start treating all religons with disrespect and laugh at them out loud. If the sound of laughter frightens religious leaders then there can't be much to their faith

Are there any practicing scientologists at FG? I'd like to hear from them if they would like to speak out.

And GMC, atheists supressing religion everywhere is just as bad as religous fanatics trying to ram it down your throat. They are right to their people and so are you to your people.

I couldn't agree with you more. I've never suggested suppressing religon and would object just as strongly to it as I do to religious fanatics trying to impose their views on others. Opposite sides of the same coin. Both are equally irrational in their own way. I don't understand how you came to the concluscion I would suppress religon from anything I've posted.

Nor am I an aetheist. If I had to use a description I would say I tended towards secularism and am a freethinker. Religon has it's place I just don't think that is telling everybody what to do and think. Tom Cruise is entitled to his own strange beliefs just as any other religious person is entitled to theirs. To assume that one is somehow "better" or more "true" than the other is an absurdity and so long as I am left alone I don't care what people choose to believe.

Last lotta stuff I read on this Tom Cruise was saying you can be a Catholic and a Scientologist at the same time. I felt very relieved to hear that... grin.
