You know how you have sweat glands over the rest of your body? Ear wax is produced by glands very similiar to sweat glands.

I don't understand.:-2

Ahhhh yes, Ear Wax! I just had to go a new ENT specialist last month to have my Ears relieved of the Ear wax. For the first time, it was painless, it made me wonder, did he really do it right! What, What?:p

I used to tell my kids that I was collecting ear wax until I had enough to make a candle. Even now they're grown up, they still ask me if I've collected enough belly-button fluff to achieve my goal of knitting a jumper with it.

Am I lacking parenting skills? :o

On this candle technique were they using regular candles or the chinese candles. I've used the Chinese candles to clean my ears. They are hollow on the inside, so there is a vacuum that does pull the wax and dirt out of your ear. I know this because I'm gross curious and cut open the candle and saw it all in there when I was done.

Ear wax , much like peanut butter, comes in two varieties : "crumbly' and "smooth".

Caucasians and Negroes have the "crumbly" type. Mongols have the "smooth" variety.

Don't know what happens if you have an Asian or First Nations parent and a white or black parent. Maybe one ear is "crumbly" and one is "smooth"?:yh_bigsmi

As it was lunchtime and he was looking at your hair, is that a typo? Did he say "There's a pasty in my mouth, wanna comb?"

I've led a sheltered life :D

I have tried those earcandles and despite all the promises, they did absolutely bugger all for me except maybe an erotic crackling sound as it burnt away  .

I have pretty terrible memories of laying across me mums lap as a kid, having her dig me ears out with a hair clip. I swear she left a couple in there !

Thank God it was only your ears she stuck the hairclip in :o

My doctor advised me to use sweet oil in my son's ears to help clean them out. You can get it at the pharmacist. Just a few drops in each night, and it helps to rid the build-up of excess wax.

And before you ask, I do not know if the oil is actually sweet, I've never tasted it. ;)

First entry I look at at this time of the morning! Now I really will go back to bed!!

Actually I'm quite an expert - I've had my "dustbins" emptied twice a year by the docs since the age of 12. Now can we leave it please .......?
