And not a drop to drink!!!

We've had soooo much rain we're all turning green here. Hell on people

with mold allergies.

I haven't been able to get out and do any yard work. Got hedges that

need about a foot cut off of the top. Trees that need transplanting.

I'm starting to feel like that planet in the Illustrated Man... the sun's

gone out!!

HALP!!

That's very true Bez. I remember seeing a report on the water shortage down south a week ago. These reporters went to an underground water storage area of some kind, and the people there said that the current water that they have stored is nowhere near where should be expected for this time of year. Infact they said that it would take at least the whole year, (and a very wet one by that,) to fill up the area to the level of water that we should have. That really is worrying. If we do have one hot summer, then I can see a lot of problems emerging for us all at this rate.

I really dread 'stand pipes' although it would be quite close to me...all that walking backwards and forwards with buckets and containers. I'd have to go to the swimmng pool for a shower everyday too :D

At least it would be a good excuse for not doing hubbies washing....he'd have to go to the launderette...he he...I'd have to draw him a map....on the other hand I guess they could close them down as well.....carwashes will be closed soon I think.

Yep most likely, they will simply place bans on what is considered to be a unneccessary use of needed water. I remember though that when we had a ban on hosepipes and water sprinkles, that nobody around where I live payed any attention what-so-ever. I can't see this changing this time around either. But you still wouldn't catch me having to go to the pool to get a wash, I wouldn't go near the place even if I was forced too!! :wah:

the sun has just poked thru for a minute... and that's how I felt. Soak it up quick cause "here comes the rain again."

I could have sworn I posted this last night but maybe not. A sweet sad

song:

Looks Like Rain

Lyrics: John Barlow

Music: Bob Weir

Played regularly by the Grateful Dead and more recently by Bob Weir with Rob Wasserman and with RatdogI woke today, and felt your side of bed

The covers were still warm where you'd been layin'

You were gone, my heart was filled with dread

You might not be sleeping here again

It's all right, 'cause I love you

And that's not gonna change

Run me round, make me hurt again and again

But I'll still sing you love songs

Written in the letters of your name

And brave the storm to come

For it surely looks like rain

Did you ever waken to the sound of street cats making love

And guess from their cries you were listening to a fight

Well you know, hate's just the last thing they're thinking of

They're only trying to make it through the night

I only want to hold you, I don't want to tie you down

Or fence you in the lines I might have drawn

It's just that I have gotten used to having you around

My landscape would be empty if you were gone

It's all right, 'cause I love you

And that's not gonna change

Run me round, make me hurt again and again

But I'll still sing you love songs

Written in the letters of your name

And brave the storm to come

For it surely looks like rain

Bob Weir inevitably ended the song with an ad lib extension. This is what he sang on "Ace": Whoa, looks like rain

Turning grey and it surely looks like rain

Whoa, surely looks like rain

Oh, looks like rain

Whole world turning grey and it looks like rain

Oh, looks like rain

Oh, here comes the rain

Turning grey and it looks like rain

Hosepipe Ban is now in force in some areas of Kent with a £1000 fine if you get caught! There's no shortage of water it's the fact that everyone is using too much of the stuff.

It's raining here he southern Calif too. And it's very windy. Cold and wind do not agree with me. But the sun came out today. I am hoping for warm days ahead.
