What fun it is being on a bike eh? Good for you.

There'll definitely be some wedding photos in June....I'll be so proud to show off my gorgeous son and his lovely wife.

I was going to get a bike last year but never got round to it. I'm fed up with diets that aren't working and basically I don't get enough exercise ....so I'll let you know if it works....for now I've got achey thighs and a sore ar$e...:yh_rotfl ...them 'Gel' saddles don't work !

Bez wrote: I have had a great day off today. I had an appointment for a health check today, so took a days holiday.

Soooo....went to pick up the new bike and rode it back home...quite an experience as I haven't ridden for over 20 years....I was a bit wobbly and rode on the pavement for a bit, but it was a great feeling.

Went for the health check...results in 2 weeks but I don't expect any problems.

Came home and worked in the garden for 3 hours...it looks pretty good. It has been very windy here but the sun came out for a few hours.

The wedding outfit for June is all sorted so I can forget about that now.

I will have worked for B&W Loudspeakers fo 30 years next week, and they are paying for me to have a holiday....so I've been looking through some brochures...Quite fancy the Scilly isles or maybe a tour of the gardens of Wales...it's good fun looking at the brochures. :)

You're bound to be a little wobbly if you haven't been on a bike for a while Bez, especially when turning a corner, but don't worry, it'll get easier when you take the stabilizers off.;)

Tomorrow, I would have worked for my company for 30 years. Today we had a management meeting and much to my surprise i was given a huge bouquet of flowers and a large glass crystal bowl enscribed with " Presented to Beryl Bartlett for 30 years Outstanding Service"...how proud am i ?? We had a glass of champagne and a yummy chocolate cake. The 2 guys i work with put 30 candles on the cake....but they were trick candles and wouldn't blow out. I was 'in stitches'...trouble was the candles burnt right down to the cake and the chocolate on the top started to boil and bubble...it was hilarious. Anyway, they are also paying for me to go on a short holiday.

Thanks Unc...it's been a really varied time I must say and I've sure seen some changes...and more to come as we move part of our business to China. I'm retiring from full time work in October, but will be working a couple of days a week for a couple of years.....

Very wise, Bez.

I am thinking of getting rollerblades-with head gear too and all.

Will I be wobbly too at first? I haven't skated since I was a kid.

Update from my niece (she was living in NO during Katrina) on my sisters progress....

" I am at Moms right now. She is doing fabulous. She had her surgery on Monday. Alison was there and spent the first 3 days with her. We have had a constant rotation of friends and family here to help care for Mom. Dawn comes in tomorrow and I fly home. Neil arrives on tuesday, and will stay until Sunday. "

"They expected her to be able to return to work after 2 weeks, but she is off for 3."

Amazing that she is able to return to work 3 weeks after having a double mastectomy...I am so relieved that all is well. She's 67 and it's such a shame that she has to work until she's into her 70s to survive.

A little boy got on a bus and sat behind the driver and said:

"If my dad was a bull and my mum was a cow I'd be a baby bull."

The bus driver scowled and told the kid to shut up.

But the kid went on with:

"If my dad was an elephant and my mum was a girl elephant I would be a baby elephant."

The bus driver started to get angry but the boy carried on with other animals until the bus driver finally yelled at him and said:

"What if your dad was a bleedin' drunk and your mum was a prostitute, what would you be then?"

"That's easy," said the boy.

"I would be a bus driver." :D
