drunk drivers. my favorite. there is nothing i like better than dragging them into the jail to take all the tests. especially after they've killed some innocent soul.

even more fun is throwing their sorry arses in the drunk tank in booking. nothing but a cement wall and maybe a blanket. maybe. then in the morning they get shackled and cuffed and see the judge, and they're still falling-down drunk. the saddest thing i ever saw was one of own booking officers get brought in by the state troopers for DUI. man, i wouldn't get into a car and drive after a glass of wine at dinner.

that's it...it's not worth it. our guy had his badge taken then and there. his career was over in moments. they are always remorseful in the morning when they sober up a bit. they have no clue the seriousness of what they have done. the possible ramifications.

And people wonder why I find it so easy to cut off people at my bar who have had too much to drink. I get called all sorts of things for denying them "just one more." Freakin' idiots.

I cant believe people "wonder". Do they think you do it for fun or something? Hey, my name is BabyRider and my favorite thing to do is cut people off at the bar! Yeah I know I have a fun motorcycle to ride on but I will tell you, nothing beats cutting off someone at a bar! Its even funner than frosties!!!

There are dumba$$es in the world, BR. Cant argue with ya there!

Good luck tonight.

I don't think it's going to be an effective campaign. Kids are going to think they're funny and will probably tape them and show them at parties for a laugh -- especially the last one. They'd be better off showing footage of actual accident scenes rather than these staged accidents. JMO

If I had the patience to sit down and explain to these people that it's not in my best financial interest to cut them off but it IS in their best interest to be cut off, I'd be way ahead of the game. But of course, they don't want to hear about that, they just want their next drink. Plus, they're ususally too drunk to grasp the fact that when I cut them off, there goes any more money I might make from them. Idiots, one and all.

My favorite thing? When they come back the day after calling me a stupid bitch for cutting them off all smiles like nothing happened. I ALWAYS remind them how rude they were.

I used to be a bartender and the one time anyone got really nasty was the time I cut this woman off who had had a whole bottle plus more glasses of white zinfandel. She called me a "stupid c()nt" and when I was at the service bar, she came behind the bar and tried to grab the bottle and pour herself another drink. Some regulars (dudes) who werent drunk hauled her outside. She told me to call the police because she said they assaulted her (hahahaha!) so I said, "You know what, you're right." Of course the police came down and the only person they arrested was her...for public drunkeness!!! She called the next night and consecutive nights after that cursing me out on the phone. She just stopped one day...she probably rode over a curb and killed herself.

Ooooh. Anyone tries to come behind my bar, they get a swift kick in the ass.

I had a similar thing happen, DG. A woman had been drinking Jager Bombs one after another and when I decided to cut her off, she threw a fit. Screaming and cussing and then she sat at the bar and called the cops to complain that the "bar I'm at won't serve me anymore and I want to press discrimination charges." Apparently, I was a bit late in cutting that one off. Cops showed up and she was looking real smug till the cuffs got slapped on her. :yh_rotfl

Serves the drunken idiot right....

I worked at a Corporate Bar (CHili's) and we cant cuss at anyone, touch them or anything. I wash I could've kicked her a$$. She developed a crush on one of the servers and he was totally disgusted. This lady was the biggest piece of white trash I have ever seen in my life!

Not naive at all Val. And yes, in 15 years, that has happened once or twice. It has also happened a couple times right when I do it. I tell them they've had enough, they look thoughtful for a minute and say, "You're right, I'm done, call me a cab." So, there are the select few out there who appreciate that I am looking out for THEIR safety.

DG, I could never work for corporate. Ever. Too regimented, no room for creativity, and with my mouth, I'd get canned in three seconds. Kudos to you for being able to, you're a better bartender than I am!

here's a good story about the port huron mi police department . a cop on the drug task force was out with his wife and 2 fellow officers . they left the bar they were at and decided to go to another bar . the cop and his wife were in a task force undercover , city owned , taxpayers funded 2006 ford mustang , the other 2 were following . the cop rolls the mustang 1 block from downtown port huron . they all decided that they would say the wife was driving the car . upon futher investigations , they were found to be lying . needless to say 1 cop was fired for lying and drunk driving and causing an accident . 2 were reprimanded . and they weren't given any road side test , blood test or alcohol breath test at the time of the accident . they too were probably driving drunk . btw the cop that was fired had 4 very young children .

Actually I had a (one) glass of wine last night and drove home from the restaraunt. Would this be condsidered drunk driving?

Well it would only be someone like me that could get drunk on one.

I'm told I could get drunk on a wine gum...hence the no alchahol rule I have when driving. I usually find if I'm with people that are happy when they're drunk I become all giggly anyway:)

I suppose the limit should be less than whatever effects you and your responses. ( and I don't mean the amount of drink people tend to claim they can hold before it effects them )
Blessed be.

Probably not. But what people need to realize, is that the "legal limit"

isn't really that. In California it is .08, but if you have done something to

get pulled over or in an accident, etc., you can be charged with DUI

down to I think it's .04. So mind your p's and q's.

California sends out a little slip of paper with car registrations that has

a graph about BAC (blood alcohol content) with shaded areas depending

on your weight and amount consumed.

Best of all is just don't do it. I have years and years ago, but would never

climb in with so much as a drop now, just too dangerous. Bars are too

expensive for me now anyway.

I used to rent a limo for company Christmas parties. My mom thought it

was silly but hey they were usually in SF where I don't like to drive and

if you split the cost between you, your boyfriend, and another couple,

pretty cheap!!
