I Have A Serious Purse Obsession...what's Yours?

Post by shibee »

I have come to the realization that I have a serious purse addiction. This came about last night as I was rushing to work and couldn't get into my closet because of the abyss of purses on the other side of the door. I'm serious, I had to literally climb into my closet and it took me a good 10 minutes to get in there. When I got off work this morning, I counted my purses and I have a total of 378. I tend to change them out almost everyday and it's the first thing I look for when I go shopping. This past year, I've sold maybe 20-30 purses on Ebay in hopes of getting rid of some...most. But, it seems like for every one I sell, I buy 5 more. I went to the Galleria and bought 4 just a few days ago. I need to quit, because, it's like an obsession. Does anyone else out there have a purse addction like mine...or any other addiction/obsession? Please share! :D

It is not an obsession until you have 378 pairs of matching shoes.

BOOKS!!!! I have SO many books in my house...books in the dresser, books ON the dresser, books in the nightstand, books in the entertainment center, books EVERYWHERE!!!! Bags and boxes of books...

I have a wonderful used bookstore near my house. I can buy a paperback there for 2 or 3 dollars. I found a copy of Jean Auel's last book, in hardcover, for 8 bucks. Mint condition. I refuse to pay full price for any book, and the best thing about my store, is they will buy my used ones back. Of course, if they don't need certain ones, they don't buy them, and I can't bear to toss them, so I end up taking them home with me till I can part with them at the public library.

Hi. My name is BabyRider, and I'm a book-aholic.

I have lots of books too. I tend to buy alot of mine from the thrift store. They sell for like 25 cents to 10 dollars. I recently bought the hard back copy of White Oleander (NEW) for 75 cents. Can't beat that!!!!

I'll have to let my best friend know she is not the only one with a purse addiction. Not sure how many she has, but she buys one every time she shops which is 1-4 a month.

Baby R, I'll join your book-aholic group. I have stacks of them on my fireplace mantel. I have 3 large shelving units in my bedroom and those are all full. I have several boxes still on my back porch filled with them. My computer desk is loaded.

Of course, I just ordered another one today...not very exciting, really. Accounting Best Practices - I bought it in self-defense for work. (long story).

My college textbooks are all online these days, so I am spared having those hanging around.

I used to collect antique tea sets, or even parts of sets. Then, simply because I am weird, I had to make linens to match each set.

This led to collecting patterns and fabrics. Once people caught on that I collected patterns, I was given tons of them...like every single issue of McCalls Needlework from 1920-something onwards.

Well then I needed storage for all of these, so my boss started giving me wood bookshelves. I had so many of those that I filled up half of our 2.5 car garage.

I probably would've tried collecting garages as well...LOL, but then I switched to a new way of thinking. Own nothing; I worry less. :p

I wish I could convince my young charges that it is cool to read books. (sigh).

I collect movies, mostly the sci-fi ones, but also the cool old stuff like basil Rathbone in "Sherlock Holmes" and Audrey Hepburn.

Other than that, I live for videogames. you guys may not know this but you can now get all the old Super Nintendo, Sega Genesis, and Nintendo games onthe web for free along with the emulation engines to run them on your computer. I have over 450 of them. I mostly love the story driven RPG's.

Bracelets I have made a ton of beaded ones, I own quite a few silver ones, I just spent $80 that I really don't have to buy an absolutely gorgeous emerald and silver bracelet off online shopping.

I also have a watch fettish but have capped that one for now. Much to costly.

Books oh yes them too darn I think I am a pack rat, and chick flick DVD's. Dandle holders too darn I need a larger house.
