Just curious if anyone out there has been fortunate enough to get their mitts on an Alpha version of Longhorn yet? I've been chomping at the bit to get access to the Beta rollout of the next version of Windows this spring and was wondering if anyone had any hands on experience with the OS yet.

At this point Longhorn has been subject of so much feature pruning it will differ little from the current XP. You can read more information about the feature set pruning here.

OS X 10.4 Tiger, however, looks like it will have a pretty cool feature set when it debuts sometime before May this year. Read about it here.

Thanks for the update. I beta tested XP before its public release and have been waiting for Longhorn. I'm getting ready to do my annual wiping & reformatting of my hard drive before reinstalling Windows and thought I might try something different or even partition the beast. I'm toying with the idea os Solaris from Sun, but still have some issues surrounding drivers.

Noticed your tag line... made me chuckle... my old college roomie was a Mac cultist. If he had his way he would have named all of his kids after teve Jobs..
