Acronyms

Being more toward middle age and only in the last four or so years into forums and so forth, I often encounter acronyms that I have no clue what may mean. One example is ROFL (I think). Could some of you posters who use them frequently, tell me what they mean? It makes it hard for me to interprete a lot of the posts
