I have been a gambler since 1993...in 93 we excavated the Foxwoods Casino underground parking lot. One of my (3) tickets :-6 to heaven was the FOXWOODS Casino.

Beats me why people put money into something that is guaranteed to produce an overall loss.

At least with gambling casinos the money does make it back to the taxpayers and charities. Learned when i was eleven that gambling didn't pay. (lost my haircut money and mother was not pleased)

So. Give me 1000, I'll give you back 760, and you'll be satisfied. I'll then spend the 240 on something taxable, and I'll be happy. The Gov't. will be happy. Charities will be happy. Everyone will be happy! GIVE ME MONEY!!!

That's the thing about gambling... you are supposed to use your own money. Aren't you the dude that started the thread about being aware of scams? Hmmm?

Well you know, I have been to La$ Vega$ 11 times (yes I count) all of them 4 night trips - so thats 44 nights and I would go again in a heart beat, so much fun. I like Black Jack and do just a tiny bit of slots... I can see how it is addictive - you think just one more hand, or just one more spin.

Can't wait to get back there - wonder if you get anything special on your 12th trip?

LOL Bill, I'm with you on this one! We have a lady that comes in where I work. She will spend any where from $200-$800 a week 1-4 times a week on instant tickets, the kind you open up like bingo tickets. She is a hairdresser so you know she doesn't make this kind of money. She is addicted and her husband has threatened to leave her many times, but she really cannot help herself.

My experience with Gambling is not a particularly pretty one. It was part of the reason for divorcing the ex. He was so disillusioned by gambling that he could not see the money he was loosing was also having a huge affect on how he was managing household finances. If he did not win he was not paying bills and letting them pile up and only making minimal payments. So when we did the split the assets thing and sold the joint home, we ended up with very little from the sale of the house as he had racked up huge giant debts with loans and taxes that i will be paying part of for the next year or so. So I have a very negative view on the "sport"

No-online gambling...I would have to say, maybe not as much as originally stated. but i do it & it is getting to the point i should stop. I am getting older and i need to look at my future. i always feel, you have one life to live? my children will be well off when i go anyway? my father gambled, his mother gambled and i have one son who gambles, that one hit $10,000.00. its in the blood and i am not the only one in this world doing it? I have worked hard all my life and don't ask for much, i just want to SPIN. ;)

It's a nasty addiction, please gamble with care and caution.
