Crazy! I am overjoyed my days of having babies are through!

Why not, since plenty of men father babies at 60 or 70 and it doesn't raise an eyebrow.

Men can really father babies at that age, though. Tony Randall comes to
mind.
With 11 other children and being diabetic to boot, this was just out
and out irresponsible, I think.

Because it is downright selfish IMO. No thought of the child here.

No more irresponsible than fathers of that age. An American writer and scholar I know of had twins when he was 72 and suffering from emphysema. How responsible was that? Didn't raise many eyebrows though.

I wouldn't call that responsible, either. If it didn't raise many eyebrows
I think it was likely because of what the media chose to feed us...
A woman of that age who decides to carry and then go through a
delivery has a little bit more impact one would think. Physically,
anyway.

At a university I used to work at, loads of the older professors left their menopausal wives and married students. The girls first made academic careers with the help of their new husbands, then had babies. One of the profs died just after his second baby was born; another one was left with a small child when his ambitious wife got a chair in another country and literally left him holding the baby in his retirement! A third took his retirement and could be seen looking very glum and harrassed, pushing two kiddies in a wheelchair through the city centre. LOLOLOLOL! But poor kids. . .
