Wow LC I'd never even heard of eating snow, especially snow with syrup on it. I take it though it's really nice. Still I can't see it being very popular over here, at least where I live, perhaps it's just an acquired taste.

Oh amen to that Clipper, most of the store based stuff is never as good as homemade ones, and yet they still outsell them, silly really if u ask me.

Well we don't get much snow over here Clipper, but funny enough today is the first day in which it has. Must be a omen, perhaps I should go get some and have a taste.

That looks like it could take a long time LC. Do you know how long it would take to get a bottle's worth roughly?? Quite a while I'm betting.

Well the real good stuff is usually always pricey, but always well worth it once you sample them. That's why the big superstores will never sell as good, quality goods as you can get from farms or markets.

Genuine maple syrup is carefully graded by color and clarity. It is not found in any significant percentage, if at all, in commercial pancake / waffle sweetners.

Vermont Maple Sugar Makers' Association it takes about ten gallons of sap to make a quart of pure syrup, which accounts for the prices. i love the maple sugar candy they make too.

Thanks for the links LC, Clipper, very fascinating reads. I never knew how much goes into it, but I'm sure that the end result is worth all the work and time. I'll make it one of my goals to taste some true syrup, as it looks lovely!
