Longing

Post by polycarp »

A hotchpotch of thoughts of events past

Brings to light moments we came first or last

Mixed imaginations psyche do raid

Exhuming memories once to rest laid

Of triumphs and proceeding joys

At moments when we jump like boys

With success-nourished minds, in mirth we hail

Bearing faces on which smiles prevail

But subtle life queer as folktales

Like a trip over mounts and vales

Presents fickle scenes like Shakespearean plays

For after laughter dreaded woe displays

Of many a thing sought but not got

Changing to blush faces of our common lot

Attaching fears of worst to seeds sown

While real products to reap are unknown

And when thought process to present is cast

After a reply of unchangeable past

Scenes are posed not better than the lived

Of sheer lies and truths once believed

For goal attainment sought at a time

Like incessant urge for more when we earn dime

Has no end like lines of light

But stretching right through the height

For contentment’s quest is a phantom bare

And really not a thirst for earthly ware

But longing of soul from body to divide

And zoom beyond stars where deities abide
A formula for tact: "Be brief politely, be aggressive smilingly, be emphatic pleasantly, be positive diplomatically, be right graciously".

Zen saying: The source of all unhappiness is want.

For contentment’s quest is a phantom bare

And really not a thirst for earthly ware

But longing of soul from body to divide

And zoom beyond stars where deities abide
