Thank you Jenny, Wow what a dangerous trend from our youth, I wonder how much the media influences them?

I think they are just being raised differently! I don't know if it's good or bad, just different. They see sex as less of a big deal and have more confidence. They think it won't happen to me.

Of course sex is a big seller on TV.

Think of all the popular shows. They use sex to market them and all the people look good.

Do you think if the two guys from this movie were played by two ugly, beer bellied, fat guys with pimples anyone would watch it? :-3

So the movie endorses homosexual relations - to which many are saying so what. But it's also disregarding the importance of monogamy - which is supposed to be universal even today!

Bad movie. Stay away.

It's obvious that those of us who consider anal sex between men indecent, dangerous, and immoral will not convince those of you that think it's good, wholesome, and acceptable. We don't seem to be able to convince you that negative media influences behavior either.

So you all can have your anal sex, I'm outta here! ROFL!:wah:

I'm not posting any more on here either. You just can't educate pork (excluding those who have posted on here that see sense and obviously have a bit of intelligence).

What frightens me is that 42% of Americans hold these opinions. I am so thankful for the 56% that don't.

So, truthfully, when you said you didn't like the erosion of morals in society, you were lying, since it is these very kinds of things that erode those values.

Jives, I think that resorting to playground insults-name calling, telling me 'I'm lying' really isn't my type of debate. I don't think that merely stating that 'you have proved' this or that means that you have.

I know my own moral code, one that doesn't involve the ignorance of scientific realities and reliance on out dated prejudices. If you want to delude yourself that I am lying then go ahead. You have your freedoms.

As my husband would not go to see this movie, I went to see it by myself this afternoon. With all the discussion on this forum about it, I needed to view it myself.

IN MY OPINION:

This was not a love story.

This was a very sad story and it made me sad.

I was very uncomfortable with the intimate encounters.

There was nothing in this movie that showed this relationship to be acceptable. It did show the wide circle of hurt it brought to those close to them, as well as the hurt they caused themselves.

Nothing in this movie would make a person want to step into their shoes and live their life. It did show how violently some people will physically attack those who are different from themselves -- to the point that they will kill them to set an example of what can happen to those of 'that persuasion' (something the news shows us from time to time).

I am glad I went and saw for myself. Would I recommend it. No. Curiosity about the movie can be cured by someone telling you about the story. Has it changed me? I don't think so. Will I think about these two men? Yes, with sadness.

Well, thank Heaven for that!

What did the movie have to say about the adultery of their relationship, Sojo? I guess there really isn't any redeeming feature of this movie, huh?:o

Both marriages were a sham. Maybe not so much when they began, but as the two men's relationship continued to be acted on, their relationship with their marriage partner deteriorated -- much the same as in straight relationship.

Tho it was adultrey, you did not view it as such. It was a cheat -- dishonest.

Puts me in mind now of Dr. Zhigwa -- another "love story", but in actuality, it is just plain old adultrey.

I think this is the best film i've ever seen...

I also made a review, here it is:

Pure and simple, black and white, this movie is undeniably amazing. All film elements were superb maybe except for some voice inflections because of their western cowboy accent that makes it hard to understand some of the words, but all in all, it was great. The actors were so amazing, so submersed in their roles; their real-life personas disappeared within minutes. The movie takes place over a 20-year time frame, and each of the actors aged so well, so gracefully. There was no forcing myself to buy into their acting, I just watched and was deeply moved. The majestic scenery, of course the mountain, also contributes a great factor to the film’s magnificence. Lastly, one of the best things I appreciate is the music used.

Here is the amazing part: once the movie ended, I realized that I hadn't cried up at all. There wasn't even a moment in the movie where I felt the waterworks

coming on.

It doesn't take much for me to cry a bit in movies, I'll admit it, but this movie in particular went beyond that. It didn't aim to make the viewers or theatergoers wallow in their tears as they swam to the exits, it aimed to get into your heart, your mind, your soul, and break you.

It broke me.

I woke up this morning and my heart was aching. I couldn't stop thinking about the movie and its characters. Every scene in the movie, every line of dialogue, just

tears you up inside.

It all seemed so real, I felt as if I had experienced every range of

emotions on the emotional spectrum during the two hours I spent watching. Never before have I been this deeply affected by a film that I probably couldn't quote you a single joke from the film after it was over.

This movie haunts me still.

It haunts me.

I don't know how to explain it, except to say that if you think you can handle it,

I would without a doubt recommend this movie to you.

I don't care if you’re a member of a conservative group or how your fears and prejudices shape what you do in life, you must see this movie. It could very easily

change your entire outlook.

Love. It's such an amazing thing. To find it and be UNABLE to nurture it may

very well be one of the most heart-wrenching ideas you could possibly imagine. Can you?

Imagine being madly in love with someone for over 20 years and never being

able to do a thing about it for fear of being ostracized for life, shaming your family, or perhaps even killed. If that doesn't make your heart ache, I don't know what will. Now imagine a movie that allows you to quite literally step into the lives

of two people going through that exact same thing.

My biggest realization from this film is: “LOVE, the more it gets

hindered

and complicated,

the more GRAND it becomes.”

BUT the most important thing for all of you is to go see this film!!!!

Not just because it is a rare, unique, wonderful film, but it will be years before

another serious gay-themed film gets "green lighted."

I bet Hollywood should stretch its mind out to produce another gay film

as good as this. A lot of people are saying that it is so good, it is getting so many

rave reviews and awards

(Best Picture: Golden Globes, Critics Choice, NYFCA, LAFCA, DFFCA and

Golden Lions (Venice Film Festival ‘05), Hopefully, i wish that it'll also be this year's Oscar Best Picture”Thanks to Ang Lee!)

Thus, it draws in a straight crowd, too.

Just remember to take into account the time and place that the story takes place, and, how”

because this is why the film is so important”for too many, it could

have been written about their TOMORROW.

I dare you to see "Brokeback Mountain" and not come back a changed human

being.

I didn't get all that from this movie.....It was an OK movie, suitable for a "Land Mark Movie" (as they call it)

The acting was OK, the dialog was rather dull and boring, the Love story wasn't all that intense.....

I think a movie that wasn't making fun of the stereotypes was somewhat refreshing..... "Boy's dont Cry" was a far more intense movie then this.....
