Getting to Tower Hill will be no problem for me, or Fenchurch Street. Never been to the sundial, though. It's looking like it will be an excellent occasion. I will bring my camera. We can take shots of each other taking shots of each other. :-6

In the meantime, we must have regular chants for sun.

I would LOVE to come but don't know whether to bring hubby and kids. I could send them shopping in central London and meet them later. What are the plans?

Also, what are your plans when you're over here Minks? Where will you stay and how long are you here for? Not that I'm planning on stalking you or anything...well, not yet anyway.....hehehe :wah:

I was saying to Raven, that it would be a good idea to pass around a pic of ourselves, so that it will be easier to spot our fellow FG group members. Well either that or the sticky label idea, and I know which I would rather use. :D

Thats the problem! We need to make some! The closest thing we have to a plan, is to meet at the sundial in front of the tower. Then we all move off as a group to the airport to pick up minks. And darling you can bring anyone you like. My hubby is going. At least that way they see who you spend all your time chatting to! LOL!! (just teasing) As far as a group pic is concerned, OH YEAH!! Brilliant idea Chris!

As far as plans on where she is staying, she will be a our place. What we are doing is still under consideration. I want to show her as much of a variety as possible. This island is one of the most fascinating places I've ever been! But what we do after we pick up minks is till up for suggestions. Got any? A pub stop will be in order, but what else? Whats going on in London in May?

Well I'll meet u all at the airport, as it saves me getting lost trying to get around London, but yep we do need to start making plans for the day.

First off for all those not sure about Heathrow or how to get there, then I had a search around the Heathrow website, and it has a good guide to how to get to the airport from wherever u live in the Uk. There are also maps of all terminals and lounges that we can wait at. There are also marked 'group meeting' points, so meeting there might not be a bad idea.

Then we will have to get from the airport into London. I'm guessing some peope might want to drive if they have cars, though what Minks is gonna want to do with her suitcases I' not sure. Not as if she is going to want to drag them around for the day before heading home with ya Raven. As far as the day goes, hmm that's hard to decide what to do. Obviously it will depend on how Minks feels on the day, and on the weather and travel issues.

I dont think she have that much luggage. We'll help her tote it! LOL! There isnt enough money in the bank of england to get me to drive to London! LOL!! Train is the word of the day for me, mate! An all day pass is good for all tube and station terminals, so we can go wherever. LOL! What a day it will be! Who is going to bring the FG banner?

All day train/ tube ticket huh, sounds good to me. Certainly is the most obvious choice for us all, that way we can avoid the London roads. But as u say it is going to be a GREAT day!!

As I say I have the option if I wanted to, to stay in London Saturday night, and head back late on Sunday, but we shall see what happens.

Hmmm I'm not sure to be honest, that's something that we may need to find out. And also if people are going to be meeting up at the airport, such as myself, then finding out what the short term parking for there needs to be done as well. I'll take a quick look, oh but anything else u'd like me to check whilst I'm nosing around the net Raven??

Who has been to the 'hung, drawn and quartered'? I would prefer a place that had good food. And that could accomodate a load of us! And no worries Chris, if the place sells food, then there is no smoking in it.

Yep I agree with that, the best place to go is somewhere that sells great food, and can accomodate our large group. You know we could actually do with getting some numbers of who is going to come, as that would make things a lot easier.

Good heavens you guys...you are waaaaayyyy ahead of me. I am still trying to get into London or Heathrow by train and it's not easy I can tell you. I can't see myself going on the underground on my own (scaredy cat).

If you are still meeting at the 'sundial' I could go to Victoria Train station and then get a taxi. ????

London bridge station is closer but there are several changes and I would have to leave at about 5 in the morning !!!!

I could get a train to Gatwick and then a coach to Heathrow and meet you there ?

Oh gawd....help !!!

Cripes Bez. Well just seeing u would be great, so I would just do what is best and easiest for u. Personally it's difficult to meet at the sundial, so I'm going to catch up with u all at Heathrow, so perhaps u can do the same.

Just to let u know that I've checked the tube info, and from what I can see it will cost £6.30 for a full day pass all around London.

Weeeeeell lets see.......I think the tower sundial is the most agreeable spot so far. Lots of room, big, easy to find and you cant miss it! That way none of us has to do the tube by ourselves. (I have. It's not that bad.) Besides....It would make for a heckofa trip to heathrow and back! LOL!!
