Post by Raven »

Okay gang! It's time to start planning on Minks receiving posse! According to our gal, she lands at 10:30am at Heathrow. Lets start getting organised with a plan! It's on a Saturday, so it shouldnt be a problem with work schedules. What I have come up with, since we actually havent met, is to meet up at the sundial at say....9? If we wear little nametags with our FG names, we should be able to find each other easy enough. Then we can all go to the airport by tube, together. Hows that sound to you guys?

Feel free to PM me for any particulars!

Wow you are right Raven, only 3 months away now until the big touchdown, doesn't time fly by!!

Hmm well I'm still hoping to come (cross fingers,) but arriving in London by 9am, may be a problem for me, but I shall see what I can do. Oh and you wouldn't need a name tag to recognise me, I'll be the small chap who is young and most likely lost. :wah:

The big sundial on tower hill! Take the train to fenchurch st. Exit the station, you walk around the building and then you will see it! It's in front of the entrance to the tower!

Hahaha well I shall see what I can do, but my knowledge of London is pretty limited, so I guess an A to Z is vital, otherwise I may never get home!! :wah:

Ah very true, but our family's history with asking people for directions is so awful. Whilst in LA, (ok miles different in size compared to most places but still!) asked three different locals for directions to one of the major hotels in the area, and got three different set of directions, all of which were wrong!!

But getting back to London, no it's not that bad, but I have only really been there twice.

Well both times that we have been to London, was when we stayed next to the Dartford bridge on the East side of London. From there we had to catch a train to the centre, and then the tube to try and visit some of the sights. Must admit, well at least when we visited the tube wasn't as bad as people made it out to be.

Well I just had a quick look at a London map, and it doesn't look that bad. Just the problem for me will be actually getting to London in the first place.

Hmmm gonna have to check train timetables, and I'm no fan of our train system!

Well I've only been train riding twice, both times the train broke down, so as you can see I kinda got put of going on trains, but I shall have a look at our timetables. Not sure how much it will cost though, I'll have to go take a glance.

Right well we have services here from Worcester to London Paddington station, which takes 2 hours and runs every 3 hours or so. Then apparently I'll have to take an hour tube journey to get to Fenchurch Street station. An hour huh on the tube, does that sound right??

maybe not. It all depends on where we have our gathering. I think it would be fair if we decided on the most central spot for all of us coming, dont you? Fenchurch was just a suggestion. There may be a more convienient spot for us to meet!

Well just had a look again, and for some reason most of the trains that come through our station to London, all end at Paddington station, and take exactly 2 hours. So where ever the meeting spot is, I'll have to get off at Paddington regardless.

Check it out

Yes you may be right Arnold, it does seem like the easiest option available. Either way though I'm gonna have to leave here by at the very latest 7am, so if I can make it, it's gonna be a long, but fun day. :)

Well by pure chance it seems that I can catch the train down to Paddington, and from there they run a Heathrow Express service, which takes 15 minutes to get to Heathrow. So doing a quick check I can leave here just after 7am, and get there, (with no problems of course,) by exactly 10.30am. I hope that is right anyway hahaha.

:wah: Yeah I can imagine quite a few (slight exaggaration,) people giving us all strange looks.

Though it is going to be strange calling people by their real names. I mean I only know a few people's at the moment, so I am gonna have to learn them all before then.

Raven, if Theia and I are coming up the night before where would be the best place to stay??

We'd thought about Heathrow but will that leave us too far out on Saturday night.

I do not know London at all, I've been twice years ago and only on the way to Gatwick!

You guys could stay at my place! Safety in numbers! I have a nice cozy sleeper sofa, and then we could all go up the next day! PM me for details! I live in a very safe place. If you wish to book a room, I know the PERFECT place. It's called the Balmoral! LOL! Right around the corner from our flat. It's where my parents stayed when they came over for the wedding. (didnt have the sofa, then)
