Does the song remind you of anyone or anything?

Mind reminds me of an old friend who died of a drug overdose when he was 20. Everytime I hear it, I think of that friend.

Music is a powerful thing :-4

ALOHA!!

MOTTO TO LIVE BY:

"Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, champagne in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming.

WOO HOO!!, what a ride!!!"

At the moment, my fave is "The Eternal Wheel" by Ozric Tentacles.

Has anybody ever written a song?

I used to write lyrics when I was a young man, and I even managed to write some music to some of them.

Posted one of my lyrics in the Pub one solitary night when no one was looking. That was a couple of months ago now. Wrote it in 1972.:D

We have something in common. I was born in 1972 :)

I'd love to hear some of the lyrics.

We could start a forumgarden song :D

Is this 'Summer Breeze' ??

See the curtains hangin' in the window

In the evening on a Friday night

A little light a shinin' through the window

Lets me know everything's alright

Summer breeze, makes me feel fine

Blowin' through the jasmine in my mind

Summer breeze, makes me feel fine

Blowin' through the jasmine in my mind

See the paper layin' on the sidewalk

A little music from the house next door

So I walk on up to the doorstep

Through the screen and across the floor

Summer breeze, makes me feel fine

Blowin' through the jasmine in my mind

Summer breeze, makes me feel fine

Blowin' through the jasmine in my mind

Sweet days of summer the jasmine's in bloom

July is dressed up and playing her tune

When I come home, from a hard day's work

And your waitin' there

Not a care in the world

See the smile a waitin' in the kitchen

Food cookin' and the plates for two

Feel the arms that reach out to hold me

In the evening when the day is through

Summer breeze, makes me feel fine

Blowin' through the jasmine in my mind

Summer breeze, makes me feel fine

Blowin' through the jasmine in my mind

Yeah it is the Seals & Croft song.

What makes thie Isleys rendition of this song is the stunning guitar hook and a virtuoso performance by Ernie Isley

Summer Breeze as written by James Seals and Daryl Crofts occurs on albums recorded by Aladdin 5, Aphrodite (not Child), Patti Austin, Bob Baldwin, The Brady Bunch, Ray Conniff, Peter Duchin, Percy Faith, Bruce Foulke, Ceasar Frazier, Hit Crew, The Isley Brothers, Jake, Jackie Mittoo, Jason Mraz, Philippe Saisse, Seals and Crofts, James Seals, Wayman Tisdale, Type O Negative, Wah Mui Orchestra, Noel Webb, and occurs on sundry other albums such as Gospel Compilation, Vol.1.

Hope that helps to jog the memory. PS, there is more than one song called "Summer Breeze".

The Brady Bunch ?!!?
That's a "yup".

The artists I listed performed Summer Breeze as written by Seals and Crofts. I just thought I'd point out that other writers also penned songs called Summer Breeze, but, obviously, these are not the same song.

That was an excellent David Lynch movie too!

Didn't he do Twin Peaks.

I watched the whole series and the two films on a bank holidays weekend. I was so freaked out I couldn't sleep for weeks.
