"At the end of the day" - Hey, things (some really, really good things) happen at the start of the day!

"Coalition" - How come we always end up carrying the load?

"Opinions vary" - I started it (here)... I should get to retire it. ;)

A brand new phrase. It hasn't been around long enough for "worn out" status. Give it a year or two. :-4

You know a phrase is worn out when it's reduced to letters:

weapons of mass destruction (WMD) and improvised explosive device (IED) - They are bombs. Period.

"Ignore list" and "worn out list." There's a difference. I say we keep both. ;)

"Drinking the Kool-Aid" (and related usage) - We get the Jim Jones analogy. That was decades ago. Get something new. Stop disrespecting the original Kool-Aid pitcher and Kool-Aid man. :o

If I catch my students doing some infraction in class, and tell me:

I'm bad, they get detention. I dislike that phrase and it is not cute.

Speaking of momma's... no offense ladies but -

"Soccer Mom's" - There are no "Football Dad's," no "Basketball Father's," and no "Baseball Daddy's." There's plenty of room with mom, momma, mother and ma. Give it a rest, please. Respect the original titles, first.

Comment on Kool Aid-I never heard that reference before CB. (it must be the age difference)

And the incident is so infamous, it is one that is best not to forget.

Maybe another language usage in description may be prefered, but it was a horrible event.
