I hope at 80 I will also still be trying new things and still learning. I see many people that can't cope with the pace of change and become miserable by trying to stand still instead of coping with life.

Hello hvfriesen, its really a privilege to have some your age at the garden. i am particularly glad to know an 80 year year old because people of your age are few in my part of the world where the life expectancy is less than 50 years. I'm glad you like chess and would like to know if you still play. A German was one time the world champion in the 1920's (Emmanuel Lasker), where you into chess then?
