You have to be careful, they are like animal activists some of these people. Freedom of Speech ya right, first you need to know the make & model of their Nervous Systems, people i'll tell ya. Seems like work sometimes instead of fun helping people get around (laugh) here?

I have to make some more room on the bookshelf, I will put her between Dickens and shakespeare I think. I am waiting with baited breath for the film, her towering intellect certainly shone through in her interviews which I was lucky enough to see live. I particularly liked the way she said she could not remember exactly when and how she agreed to cooperate with LE, probably right after the DA said "Cooperate or you are in the slammer" Amber darling.

In all seriousness her performance was one of the most unedifying spectacles I have seen, her appearance with her attorney Ms Gloria Allred (aka Shelob) gave the game away, no honest answers would be given if they affected the book of film deal.

I live in hope that Laci,s mother will make a public statement condemming if not the content then the use of her daughters picture on the cover.

I have read Amber's book cover to cover and I can tell you it is 'her story' there is nothing about Laci in there, just Amber's life, what happened with her and Scott, what she was thinking and feeling. She was very matter of fact and frank about things she has done and regrets she has... and she trashes no one, not even those who have betrayed her.

I think it is interesting that Sharon's lawyer made a statement about the cover photo. Maybe we will hear more later, I don't know. It just seems odd that they would go to the time and trouble to prepare & release a public statement and skip over being offended by the book ! saying it was only the cover that was a problem.... perhaps the statement is a roundabout way of publically supporting the contents?

It was reported here that the family was extremely hurt by Amber using

Laci's pic on the cover of her book.

This was a SF Bay Area tv station, sorry can't cite a more direct quote or

source than that. But that is what was said.

But I think in saying that they meant more that the whole thing bothered

them, enough that they wouldn't read the contents. Just my feeling about

it, I do wish we might hear more but probably won't, they might figure

that would just add fuel to the fire or raise Amber's income from the book!

Yes, that is correct - the family only had an issue with the photo.. not the contents.

We have been discussing this at length on a crime forum I subscribe to and it appears the author has little or no control over the cover of the book - it is all up to the publisher.

Ooh, I can certainly believe that an author would have little or no control

over a book cover! Who knows what they would try to convince you to

have on it.

And Cassie, any scuttlebutt on who is/was paying Gloria's salary? Just

curious. Didn't know if she does pro bono stuff or not.

Exactly! which leads me to believe the complaint was directed at the publisher as Amber would have no say.

gloria "i never- saw- a- high-profile -case-i-couldn't-insinuate-myself-into" allred always claims to work pro bono. the value of it in CONSTANT media appearances and resulting business for her firm, is worth gazillions of bucks. (and actually, gloria got amber early on).

I am not sure how Gloria was renumerated for her time... it may have been strictly for publicity, or she may have taken a chance on Amber being marketable after it was all over.

I think Gloria and Geragos have locked horns in the past and Gloria was personally interested in cutting him down to size, which she did very well. He was whining to the judge about having Gloria gagged and the judge said "nope" gloria wins again.

geragos slashed his own wrists, with no assistance from gloria. and the only reason she wasn't subject to the gag order is that her client was a witness,...it was amber who was gagged and gloria was not an attorney of record , she had NO standing in the court. she had filed no appearance. THAT'S why she wasn't gagged. she only gagged me....now, if michael jackson ever gets going in ernest you will see gloria filing amicus briefs in the courts to take his kids away, (fine with me) strictly to interject herself. that is her M.O. if it's high-publicity gloria is hot on the ambulance bumper.

yes...geragos asked for everything but the magna carta to be rescinded..run it up the flagpole and see if anyone salutes it. THAT we can agree on cassie!

geragos did a lousy job and i would not be surprised if the petersons filed a complaint with the california bar after the sentencing.....he really made some egregious errors...which may or may not have been part iof the game plan.

they'll plead to the bar that the enormity of his incompetence was not evident until he rested the defense case prematurely and then totally screwed up the penalty phase... he even said in open court he was NOT PREPARED!! :wah:

Sadly Amber & her boyfriend David faced off in court today ~ a custody hearing over their 8 month old baby boy.

Amber was flanked by Gloria and another lawyer. David M. had his lawyer.

I guess the stress of all this has been rough on the 2 of them...

any decision forthcoming? ...stress of what...going to the bank to deposit her royalty checks over Laci's dead body? i hope the next guy thinks twice about impregnating the breastfeeding madonna.

well there is a SHOCK! gloria has somehow interjected herself into the blake trial. let me guess...amicus brief on behalf of little rosie? (for which she has no standing) how will gloria manage all the "no comments" she will have to make on every cable show out there in re: blake and jackson?

LC & Susie, I agree with you both, Susie is always tender in her temperment. My eyes and heart see a beautiful woman. Profiles and records known describe and exhibit a person who makes bad choices. Amber ruined her own life, you only get so many chances. Beauty comes with-in how many times does it take to know---who you are messing with? SETTle. :yh_beatup nasty No I don't want a Hot Dog.
