A wounded veteran from Operation Iraqi Freedom received a Christmas card that contained anti-war and death sentiments. Images of the card can be seen at the following link: http://michellemalkin.com/archives/004021.htm

Please send this warrior the proper sentiments:

In advance, and after the fact, may God bless those in the global coalition that would see fit to honor this particular warrior, and any other warrior, that you feel worthy of proper sentiments. This isn't about political party affiliation, religion, or even the country where you live. This is about the human condition. We are all members of the human race. Surely at such a time, we can transcend all those barriers to support those that have given of the flesh for our collective, global freedoms. :yh_hugs

This so bites.. but I am a firm believer in what comes around goes around. Whoever sent this hateful card will at sometime in thier future recieve something atleast as bad .. if not worse...

Thank God for all those members that are willing to take up this cross. Not to climb to high on a soap-box, but we all know that Private First Class Joshua Sparling, and countless thousands like him, bear the scars of battle that cannot be truely appreciated excpet by those that have them. These warriors are in a class of their own. They are in the honored Order of the Purple Heart, whether they have actually filled out the forms to join or not.

I'm sorry for being a 'Johnny come lately' to the issue, but I just got wind of the outrageous action. Timing in this matter is irrelevant. We need to support our warriors in uniform no matter when we learn of disrespectful activity. Without preaching to the choir, I am a life-member of the Disabled Americans Veterans. These young patriots have given of themselves, so that others in our global community might know the taste of freedom. Please don't let politics get in the way of showing these warriors how much we appreciate their service to our country and to global liberty. They have born the scars of battle. Let's do our share to honor their service.

Warriors know the price of living lonely in a foxhole. This patriot needs the support of our collective prayer-chain and tangible sentiments. We need to charge the Postal Inspection Service with an investigation as to where this death threat originated from. This Private First Class patriot, Joshua Sparling, is a federal employee. Domestic threats against his life should be handled accordingly. We just shouldered an increase in postage rates. When will the Postal Service allow proper investigation as to where this death threat came from?

Or are death threats against a member of our Armed Services less important as the anthrax threats against Congress back in the day?

Or maybe it was dictated to a child by an adult that was trying to spread anti-war propiganda in a child's writing style. Such transfiguration is popular with those trying to disguise their identity, like those responsible for the anthrax attacks. Look at image captures of those envelopes. Then, you will see similarities. Never underestimate the enemy.

I'm going to go against the grain here and suggest that possibly this has been taken out of context. It has obviously been created by a young child, so it would not be too hard to imagine some child deciding to send a soldier a card with the best intentions, but failing miserably in the execution. Just a thought

I heard a report on the radio today by the veterans father that said many people are sending videos, DVDs, phone cards and other things that can be destroyed by the scanning process that is in place due to the prior anthrax attacks. Maybe call the Red Cross and find out the best way to send such things to this American patriot and hero.

Okay...I have not opened this link to view this card, because taking what I see here in the replies to the thread, this would seriously p!ss me off and right now, my doctor has told me that I cannot tolerate any more stress.

As most of you know, I am a staunch supporter of our TROOPS. Not neccessarily everything they are REQUIRED to fight for, but for what they do, every day, they have my utmost respect.

So, whiter light, even if this was a child who wrote whatever is in this card, there still had to be an adult around to supply the postage, and monitor whatever a small child might be sending out in the mail.

Can someone clue me in on just how bad this thing is? I really don't want to jack my blood pressure, but I am a bit curious.

And Chiptbeef, thanks for posting a way to counteract this mean-spirited attack.

Edited to add: Has this story been validated? Not that it would surprise me in the slightest, I just know the kind of BS that can get thrown around the web.

I don't mean to upset you in any way medically, but want to provide you the information you seek, in written form. The original link I had provided is valid. It desribes the the card as "The card front, decorated with patriotic and holiday stamps, was deceptively innocuous."

The front of the card seemed to have three immages. One looked like a snowman holding an American flag, one looked like an eagles' head with an American flag underneath, and the third image (out of focus on top) I could not identify.

The sentiment on the inside of the card reads:

"Have a great time in the war and have a great time dieing in the war. From, Miguel PS. DIE". The word "Die" is highlighted with colored crayon.

I commend your position of adult guidance. That, in my opinion, makes the event even more eggregious. I think this should be formally investigated. Our warriors, veterans and patriots that carry the scars of battle deserve better. This story was reported on the national show "Hannity and Colmes" and possibly others.

Ah, I'm only partially kidding about the stress thing. Folks here that know me well know that I am one of the biggest supporters of all who serve our country, and I get really worked up when people crap on them. I actually swiped the link and posted the story in my husband's M/C forum, which is frequented by many veterans. The story will get spread.

I agree that having had to have been supervised by an adult makes it even more fu*ked-up. The lack of respect that children seem to be being brought up with now a days is out of control.

Radio reports confirm that this patriot's legs will be saved. He will have to be on crutches for roughly one year. This warrior will walk again. Glory to God.
