This post seems to imply that you think it would be a bad idea to have two same sex partners raise a child, and implies that a child will automatically become gay because of this. Am I right?
Daffodil, may I politely inquire your age? Are you under 13? Do you have a specific learning disability or a condition that prevents you from speaking correct English? Don't get me wrong, I'm just trying to ascertain whether you are pulling our legs or are really disabled.

That's the same argument used against desegregation and dating/marrying/adopting outside one's designated ethnic group.

Okay, we've had lots of fun winding each other up. If we're all ready to get serious again.
Daffy, you say you are concerned about the kids getting stick for living with a gay couple. I can tell you from my personal experience that kids will get stick for living in any unusual circumstance. I spent several years in a children's home. I don't know if the UK has an equivalent, but it is a group foster home with several cottages on a 'campus.' The Baptist Children's Home in Monroe, Louisiana, had over 100 foster kids. I was one. We got a tremendous amount of flack (stick) from the other kids because no family wanted us. The fact that it was untrue was also unimportant.
More importantly, when you are one of over 100 kids, nobody has time to teach, to challenge, to love, to spend one-on-one time together. We learned from each other. It's a bit tough to learn to be an adult from an older kid.
I would have welcomed the chance to be in a loving foster home with a couple - gay, straight, friends, whatever - who could give me the individualized guidance I needed.
Sure, give heterosexual couples first dibs. Absolutely agree 100%! But for the kids that's left over, a poor substitute is better than none at all.

Run on or broken sentences, sh!t thrown together that make no connections, rambling babbling, nonsensical crap. Do you actually have a point to make anywhere here, or are you just suffering from diarrhea of the mouth?
Oh, and by the way....the USA does indeed allow for same sex partners to adopt children.

Can you imagine a prostitute mother explaining to her teenager why she has to turn tricks to support her cocaine habit?

Those that are against gay couples raising children generally make some wrong assumptions.
1----That the child will become gay due to exposure
2----That the child will grow up dysfunctionally
Neither is correct as proven by those that have been raised by gay couples.
I have personal gay friend couples that have reared their children very well and the kids are now married adults with good careers
How about the number of children that are being raised by a natural parent that was once in a hetero marriage, is divorced, and remarried now into a gay relationship with a partner. There are lots of these situations.

If My wife and I should Die suddenly and my kids dispersed to homes, I'd rather they be rasied by the homes and proper authorities than a gay couple.
I don't want my children to sit under the influence of any homosexual ideology or person who claims homosexuality as their choice in life.
I have made choices to ensure my children would be raised properly by the proper parents should it come to that.
Those are my wishes as a parent. It might be different had I been in your shoes. But I doubt it.
As to your question...
Those children should be raised by the state. My reasoning is this. The Bible gives unconditional promise... God himself said "I will be a father to the fatherless". Daniel and the young men taken captive into Babylon were under the same circumstances as you. And they flourished.
To raise a child aroudn two fathers ort two mothers causes gender confusion. If the ones doing the adopting (gay couple) had any knowledge of what they were going to put that child through, theyd back off. I'd call them selfish adults. Thats the opposite of good parenting.
I agree with your preferences. I have the same ones. Not everyone has the foresight and sense of responsibility you have.
For those with no other way, the smaller family model - regardless how screwy - is better for society long-term than institutionalizing.

My Sis went down there, it broke her heart and she wanted to take home an even dozen of em. Another church was placed in charge of the kids before my Dad was. Those kids were kept in terrible conditions, and most of them were nothing more than thieves on the streets, not event he local school will take them because of behavior problems. So Dad set up a school. Then he rebuilt the buildings, hired cooks, and nanny's and set up local proxie families to come live in small family style groups with the kids. Now each kid has a mother/father and siblings spaced out 1-2 years apart.
I think what we lack in this country when it comes to our children and the homeless is creativity.
I believe we can take care of all of us in any circumstances our nation finds it in, properly, with good conditions and morals...
We just don't allow it to happen because we set up too many of our own barriers.Again, I agree wholeheartedly. I think I agree with your last sentence even more than you do.

The end does not justify the means, and I'm sure that there are very nice folks raised by Gay couples. But it's still wrong.
Please Stu... send them an invite to the forum and I'll be glad to talk with them.

I don't think you are suppose to persecute or pass judgment either!

I think what is lacking, not just in your country but mine and everyone elses is not creativity but compassion. Not just that but non judgemental compassion, not qualified and reserved for the "worthy". Coupled with a willingness to live and let live without trying to tell everybody how they should be living and leaving them alone to make their own choices and find their way. Respect my way and I will respect yours. Enjoy the otherness in others and savour your own difference and be ready to be tolerant. Any fool can be a bigot and hate and despise what is different but it takes intelligence and self confidence to respect another who is different from you and sees the world differently and is of a different colour, creed, sexual orientation or from liverpool. So long as the children learn to be compassionate human beings with a sense of their own worth does it matter who brings them up?
( I can type, I can spell, why is it doing both together is so Bloody difficult? This keyboard is crap)

I didn't see this...........you are denying them therefore you persecute.

You know I hear this all the time, that I'm not being tolorant. There are many things I dont think you'd tolerate either.
I dont like loud music of any sort when im trying to relax, especially in my own home. Should I tolerate when a person blares their music in front of my house?
How about when a person tries to steal my child? Or break into my home?
Why should I tolerate homosexuality? Why give me one positive thing that benifits society in it?
Why do I have to allow something that is blatantly abnormal go on in front of me?
You don't seem to tolerate folks from liverpool (that parts a joke. hehehe)
Oi, I luv people from Liverpool yeah, yeah, yeah

Far----------is it safe to say that much of your thinking on this whole subject is based pretty much on your religious convictions?

I agree, just what I was trying to say but far more eloquently put. Got a bit side tracked by the religion aspect I'm afraid.

Enough said.
I'd say more than enough. First post and wow, look! Sarcasm, mocking religion, mocking political values, and snap judgements all in one!
Personally, I don't think you could have done more damage to your position here in a single post if you tried.
now....(Jives looks around) Hey! How did I get back in that crazy Gay Cowboy thread?!!!
(Jives checks the thread title again)
Oh. It just seems like the same thread. Well, Snooze is still mad at me from yesterday and has changed her title to annoy me, so I'm staying out of this one. C'mon Snooze! Let me back in from the cold!
The only thing I can add is that I, too, was an orphan. (I guess we have more in common than we thought, eh, ACC?) And personally, I'm very, very glad that I was raised by a straight couple.

Good recovery Slade. :-6
I think very few of us are tolerant in this thread. Several of us steamrolled Daffy's daffy posts, several are showing their intolerance of Far's stance, by the strict definition Far & I are intolerant of each other's views.
At what point does simple dislike and stating opinions become true intolerance?

I agree with the first three, but snap judgments? Nah, that was based on years of observation and research.

Ooo...wrong way to start off in this forum, darlin'. Make nice, mind your manners, and we won't make assumptions about your first narrow-minded, presumptuous post.

Frankly? My jury's still out. No one should be that rude with post #1. I'll reserve my opinions for now.
