A strong house of mortar and stone
Squared and strong it stands alone
A fine person built this home well
Full of stories the walls could tell.

When times were good, or sometimes bad
Of love, and lust, and secrets shared
Old voices that were usually glad
The give and take of folks that cared
A strong house of mortar and stone
Squared and strong it stands alone
A fine person built this home well
Full of stories the walls could tell.
When times were good, or sometimes bad
Of love, and lust, and secrets shared
Old voices that were usually glad
The give and take of folks that cared
Old age and treachery, is an acceptable response to overwelming youth and skill

When times were bad the roof caved in
No coals to warm them frosty toes
Then woe betide the neighbours din
When Mommy battled with her woes
But in rebuilding much was learned
Love again flourished with hatred spurned
As time can heal and scars will fade
We lie atop the bed we made.

We lie atop the bed we made. Our limbs entwined, our skin is flushed
myself engorged, herself so warm
we take our time, we won't be rushed
my lips tremble as I caress her form

Of love and lust we've had our share
Faced the world both brave and bare
My friend, my comfort and my lover
We've always been there for each other.
