Moth problem...
What do you all do to prevent moths? I just went to pull my favorite
lavender color cashmere sweater out of the closet (it wasn't even out of
the dry cleaning bag yet!) and there is a moth hole right smack dab in the
front.
I have tons of cedar stuff around, chips and blocks and cedar balls and still,
this is the third sweater that has been ruined. I hate mothballs but is that
the only way? And if I do end up using them, how do you get that smell out
every time you want to wear a sweater?
Any help well be greatly appreciated, I'm so sad.

Careful examination of clothes before long storage - moth-proof storage... bars of soap (Imperial Leather) in with clothes... moth-balls if really needed (warm air after).... sacrificial articles de-mothed every so often.... but No. 1 - swat they little beggars if you see them.

That's awful, Valerie. I'm sorry.
Try folding your sweaters, wrapping them in plain tissue, and then sealing them in plastic storage bags. You can add a cedar chip or a sachet so it smells nice.
As for your lavendar cashmere sweater, you can try taking it to a local knit shop. They *might* be able to repair it. It would depend on the sweater design...but they could add something to cover up the moth hole like a second color, or they could take the bottom part of the sweater apart, and re-knit it but it would be shorter.
Hope this helps a bit.

I love MOth Balls...Haven't had a problem here. you must have some good sweaters that are tasty. Store them out of your home? Is there a local dry cleaners that offers storage? I use moth crystals around my house for insect protection. I have exterminators 4-5 times yearly? I cannot handle spiders, you have no idea....
Everyone has these on their face? TULIPS.

It does, indeed, and thanks. I will check it out, I wouldn't mind if there was
a little applique design or something to put on it...
