what do really want for x-mas.
Ok this my first attemp at throwing something too be commented on,just so I can get a feel for the kind poeple I am talking too.
With the holidays upon us now.I do believe in Jesus,And yes there is a santa.Any one with kids knows who santa is,and the tooth fairy, easter bunny. When is was a child,I believed in santa, then I got selfish and did not, then I became DADDY,and no I know That I am santa ,So santa really does exist. As parents we love our kids enough carry on that secret. But i do not understand the connection between Jesus and santa, never have.Jesus is about love for your family inner and outer.
It's about celerbrateing a miracle of the birth of christ. For that we exchange gifts of joy.
Santa has more of a robin hood kind of background. We buy gifts for poeple too show them that we love them/of think of them. And we all know of the cash flow aspect of this.
But my question too you is What do you really want for christmas.?
spare mr the world peace crap, and we all want our troops home.but any given day of any given year there troops abroad. And beleive me when I tell you that although they miss thier familys, they also are proud too serveing this country.don't ask how I know that, you don't know me well enough,I just know.
Myself, what i want for chrismas is too see my dad sitting in my liveing room, with daughter sitting on his lap, opening gifts from my santa(him).the look and the smiles from both of them in turn gives the man who gave up so much for me a return on his emotional investment. This is my true meaning of the holidays.you must keep your wishes true too yourself and take your victorys how ever small. My dad and mom are in florida,I can fly them here, and reach my goal. And the best part.I can never return it too walmart because it did'nt fit,or was the wrong clolor of what ever.I'm stuck with it for life like I am my family and friends.

That was really nice. I love your perspective. So many go their whole lives without ever figuring that out. Well actually this morning as I was wrapping presents it came upon me that what I would really like is for my boys age 5 and 9 to get along better!
Also I must comment on the Santa belief. When I was growing up my parents NEVER DID admit that Santa wasn't real. NEVER DID. At no point in my childhood did I ever have to be disappointed because I always clung on the possibility......because the 2 people I trusted most in the world NEVER admitted it. To this day (I am 36) they still won't admit! Now I am a parent and I will never admit it to my own. One day my 9 yr old came home and challenged me on it because he said a boy at school said his mom actually told him there wasn't a Santa. I explained sadly that the boy's mother probably really believes he doesn't exist. Because at some point someone told her he didn't. And then he stopped coming to her house. And now that her boy doesn't believe, he won't come there either. I said the moment you stop believing, and worse...start telling others he doesn't ....is when he stops coming to you. So as for me....at 36 and with 3 kids...I can honestly say...HE STILL COMES HERE!!!! I BELIEVE!!!! And you all should too!!!!!! Don't EVER admit it. EVER!!!

one year my parents had not seen my brother in a number of years, we lived in Mass. and he in CA. so i flew him out and surprised my parents on Christmas Eve. i will never ever forget that, where i have forgotten many material gifts. my parents were overjoyed. i am happy to say i have it on film since my parents are deceased.

Wow LC, that is so special...what a wonderful momento to cherish their memory. The tape itself could make a nice gift for one of your siblings if they don't have a copy!!

I want to spend Christmas with my parents and siblings and their spouses and children.
Sadly, you only appreciate how special that is, when you can no longer do this, and 12000 miles separate you from your loved ones!
But I have a husband, two beautiful children and a couple of very good friends who will make the day special!

I'm going to share a Christmas story with you all.....
When I was about eight my family, mom, dad, brother and myself, stayed at my grandparent's home. I was late and I woke up having to use the bathroom really bad. Knowing it was Christmas Eve and that Santa would soon be there I got up and went as quickly as possible to the bathroom. On the way back I looked out the window and saw all the snow, something caught my eye and I got as close to the window as possible and looked. Since it was dark I didn't see what color clothes the man had on, but walking to the house was a large man with a bag over his shoulder. I ran straight to the bedroom and covered my head. The next morning there were presents all over the living room I was so excited! After opening the gifts and having breakfast I asked my grandpa if it was him that I had seen, he said no it wasn't, I'd just imagined what I'd seen, but when I insisted the men and I go look where the man had come from they did find shoe prints. Daddy and grandpa were amazed, they told momma and grandma that I hadn't imagined it at all. They looked around the house, inside and out, to make sure nothing had been taken, but the prints led straight to the house and disappeared. They had a cellar that you could only get into from outside and no one was down there. Now tell me, who was it? Santa or an eight year olds imagination?
Now, both my boys believe in Santa very much. My ten year old came up to me a couple of weeks ago and said he knew I helped Santa out. I thought that was sweet. Last year someone told him Santa was a robot! He was crying and I was trying to keep from laughing, I told him Santa was as real as he and I were. He's good to go now. I love kids!

There is a SANTA!!! I know there is, I heard him on our roof when I was a kid. Many of my relatives would come over to my folks house every Christmas eve, & between all the families there were 14 various aged young kids. We all were allowed to stay up late that night (cause we couldn't sleep anyway) and after dinner the kids all went into the living room, and all of a sudden there was a comotion on the roof top!! And we heard Ho-Ho-Ho yelled out loud. The adults all said it's Santa on the roof, so we all should go hide in the bedrooms so we didn't disturb him. We all ran screeming with joy into the bedrooms knowing Santa was on the roof, and waited there untill he unloaded all the gifts. It was a wonderful feeling knowing Santa came to our house, and was leaving gifts for us all. Then we all ran out screaming and running to the Christmas tree, to see all the toys Santa left for us! It was wonderful. As I got older, I learned that my Dad & my Uncle went outside & banged on the roof with brooms making the noise, & yelling Ho-Ho-Ho. So then, I even helped them do the same act for the remainder of the younger kids for the following years, untill they all knew. So when I had kids of my own, I carried on the same tradation with them, they heard Santa on the roof top, & Ho-Ho-Ho, untill they finally knew. Now my kids do the same tradation for my Grandkids! It's great, I still enjoy watching them run screaming with over whelming joy!

That's so commendable Clip, I just get a tear in my eye when I see the current deployed Men & Women of our armed forces wishing their family & friends a Merry Christmas over the TV. As you have pointed out, Holidays are best when spent with family & friends! (And Santa just may bring that JBBL! Keep your fingers crossed)

I want for our oldest daughter to be able to come home for Christmas. This way we will have both daughters and our grandson with us.
Got a call this week from her telling me she'll be home.
Looking forward to seeing her and hoping the weather cooperates with her travel.

Awww NV that is lovely, I wish for happiness and good health. The latter especially for my daughter. She undergoes Gastro intestinal scoping early in January with the hopes of finding what is wrong with her or eliminating what isn't wrong.
