1999 Dodge 4X4 pickup with a diesel engine. I get 20 mpg on the highway and about 16 in town. It sure is noisy but I like it.

I had a 1960 Renault Dauphine about 40 years ago. It had a water cooled rear engine. I had a lot of fun with that car.

I own a: 1962 Chevy truck. It's used like a tractor for pulling up trees and hauling gravel. The thing was originally a 3/4 ton, but it's been modified to carry 2 tons. (springs, rear end, etc)

A 13 year old Renault 19, just hit 150'000 miles and i had to spend £600 on a recent service when the car is worth no more than £200 And I'm meant to be travelling to and from Wales for the next 2 years in this thing! Stereotypical students car.
Still, atleast it has a CD player!

I'm in the same boat! But at least it's better than a monthly car payment...well, unless you're repairing it every three months. And insurance is cheaper, right?

Best babe magnet I ever had was a bright yellow CV6. I they burst out laughing when they saw it I knew I was ok. The ones that wouldn't be seen dead in it were a waste of time.

I have an old '68 Camaro that was my first car... I don't drive it anymore though. It's stored in my garage.
I also have:
an old Aston Martin... '86 (I rarely drive that one anymore either)
'05 Mercedes AMG
'04 Chevrolet Suburban (I drive it whenever I can afford the gas, anymore! :wah: )
'04 Ford Interceptor
'03 Chevrolet Corsica

Mine's just a little 2500 Dodge 4X4 with a Cummins Diesel. I only had to pay $3.10 for fuel today.:wah:

Hey, I was kinda happy. I paid $3.33 last week.
It doesn't make much sense to me. I keep thinking diesel should be less than gas but I guess there is more demand for diesel so the price is higher even though it doesn't take as much refining.

Yep... it's all about demand... so the petrol companies say, at least. The regular fuel prices always increase for the holidays too though so... and there's always a steady demand for diesel for trucks... I can't see why it's $3 still though... it's certainly not doing much for retail businesses or the economy either. .. and not to mention the drivers that pay for their own fuel, that have been having their income reduced by a third to half even now... I'm getting a bit off topic though... :driving:

Holy mother of god what do you do for a living? I don't much about the U.S. cars but just the Aston and the Merc will set you back a bit? I feel completely inadequate now! My advice is to sell them all and get the new Aston Martin DB9, its simply the best-looking car ever built...you know if you got it, flaunt it. As for my pathetic (but practical) 02 Nissan I will say no more.

I do not like cars. Especially the new ones. I prefer my new 2006 DODGE 3500 dully. It has a nice diesel engine, 4 doors, with the extended cab and an 8 foot bed, and is 4 wheel drive. Its the most comfortable vehicle I have ever driven. It also has air ride seats in the front. Full power and an 8 disc-changer with 8 speakers. the only way to go.

Well actually I do use it a lot. I have a snow plow on it to plow snow . I have a 40 ft 5th wheel flatbed trailor that will be used on it to haul antique farm equipment and it will be used by the family to pull out 38ft 5th wheel camper, we use tp vacation in. So yes it will be used a LOT. If not I would have setteled for a reqular full size pick-up.

The families that buy SUV's and never use the 4WD .... well, that's just wasteful. :p

To return to the topic in hand, a friend of mine always buys yellow cars. I think he likes them to match his teeth

You guys have no class at all. My first car was citroen dayne then after blowing up the engine doing 90 on the M6 (downhill with the wind behind me) I had a cv6, a bright yellow one just like James bond drove. I've always adopted the Bruce Lee approach to cars and fashion too come to that-you know the bit in enter the dragon when he's asked what his style is and he says"my style is no style"-you get my drift.
Stop posing and go for the kind of cars that say I don't care what anybody thinks, buy that hyundai you've always wanted. Leave the lorry on the forecourt and buy a scooter instead. Real men don't care!
Would be fair to say most UK car reviews are fairly disparaging about american cars-they're crap basically, just to let you see we are open minded
