By that I meant anyone who could afford to buy a nice soft bed, wasn't a dig at women, just in case you read it wrong.

On average I'd say men. They might have more demanding careers physically but emotionally women take responsibility for home and family and generally have a less rewarding career. This is a very emotive subject and my reply in no way suggests one sex is better or cleverer or more able than the other. I just think as a very rough guide.....men have it easier on the whole. :p

What could be more rewarding than caring for the ones you love ? Would realizing the highest profit margins somehow be more satisfying ?

I thought this was going to be about something else.
Seriously, I think women have a lot more power now.Which is a very good thing. We're still not equal but hopefully getting there.

Men.
The women have to work a full time job, come home and do all the housework-another full-time job, while the men get to rest!

I think or maybe hope, that that is becoming less true. While I do a majority of the housework, My husband cooks supper a majority of the time due to our work schedules. I may have to ask him to mop the kitchen, which sometimes frustrates me because duh! Open your eyes! LOL, but I know he'll do it. Things are slowly changing. You now have fathers getting custody, trying to juggle career and family. You have stay at home dads whose wives go out and earn the money while they stay home taking care of the house and kids. Unfortunately though, most of the time it IS the women trying to do it all.

I think that women have more responsibilities, but I would hate to be a man. Imagine being a middle aged white protestant man and getting blamed for all of the world's problems. I know girls who think that every time a man smiles or says hello to her that he's hitting on her. Or girls who get all bent out of shape if a man holds the door for her. It seems sometimes men are damned if they do and damned if they don't. I guess I'm saying I'm happy I don't have to deal with that. At least I'll get sympathy for trying to balance my job, (hypothetical) kids and housework.

We not only have 2 full-time jobs, but we get paid 3/4 as much as men for the one & nothing monitarily for the other. Yes, watching your children grow & learn is rewarding. But that's why there are 2 people in a relationship, not 1.

AS I am unable to answer anything with a YES or NO, it occured to me to pass this one by....but I can't....sooooo
There are still many men that I refer to as 'dinosaurs' that still expect to be waited on hand and foot while their poor wives work full time ....however, I see many couples sharing the chores, cooking, baby minding etc and I think this is an upward trend thanks goodness.
While many women would love to stay at home and look after kids, economics won't always allow it.
In an ideal world SHARE everything in the partnership.
YES....on the whole men get the better deal at home and at work...but things are changing for the better.

It may be ideal for the relationship to be 50-50, but how people do you really know that do this? I probably have only known 2-3 couples who I would say had a fair relationship, sharing housework and responsibilities of child rearing. Honestly, how many do you younger ones know? They aren't around here, with the young women at my work........................they work all day, take home homework to grade, clean house, sometimes return for other activities, babies and toddlers in tow.

MEN! Hands Down
look at todays society of single parents which do you see struggling the most?
Women you got it.
Women on average and as the majority, are responsible for family and home, and if necessary a job on top of this. Generally a job that isn't going to pay the same wage as if a man was doing the job.
Sad statistic I bet.

I agree with soooo many people. I suppose it depends on the person rather than the sex of the person. If you take life in stride and can find some pleasure in it then you have the easier life as opposed to someone who is always complaining. Expectaions in a marriage or work have to be negotiated. I am also going to duck and run for being a fence sitter on this one. Oh gosh that reminded me of a funny story. Where is the life's embarassing moments thread?

no one says either sex is responsible for anything.
if women want to get a job and help raise there family at the same time they have to make sure they're ready, and yes there should be equal help from the men.
my uncle stays at home with 4 boys, hyperactive ones at that, and goes to work and is a volunteer fireman while my aunt is staying with us at the moment so she can complete her ambulance training.
it's been a year so she's nearly done. but thats not the point.

My beloved has it easy because I work and make a decent living. She stays home if she wants, works if she wants. I take her out shopping or for dinner whenever she asks, and sometimes before. Requests for massage has evolved into an ESP thing, which I always obey.
I have it easy because my beloved takes good care of me. She cooks excellent meals and always makes a little extra so I can take a home-cooked meal to work the next day for lunch while the other slobs have to eat junk. She watches the budget so closely I have to beg her to get a little something for herself now and then. She always asks about my day and listens, even though I know she doesn't care about it beyond my involvement.

BTW, I believe that to say a single father has it easier than a single mother is crrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrapola!
