Just a nice little story...

Post by valerie »

I talked to my sister last night and she told me that dad went out to

breakfast Friday morning at a little town near where they live... Graingeville

Idaho, I think it is.

Tiny little diner and when dad went to pay for his breakfast, the waitress

said somebody had just paid and told her to tell dad "Happy Veteran's Day"!

He asked her if she knew who it was (he had seen a man and his little boy

sitting near him) and she gave him the name... turns out it was the sheriff!

Isn't that great? Just a small recognition of my dad and his service.

Sometimes people still do nice things in this old world!

What a wonderful story Valerie.

It warms my heart to hear that random acts of kindness still do exist.

That's such a lovely story and pretty unusual as well I bet. I couldn't see many people doing that around where I live.

That is great Val. I just got off the phone with my mother in L.A., and they went to Knott's Berry Farm on Friday, since it is free for veterans. When they were going in to eat, a young man came up to my step-father, and asked him if he had served his country, and he replied yes, in the Korean War. He pulled out a $50 bill, and told them dinner was on him, he was honored for what he had done for his country. The young man explained he was never qualified physically to serve in any of the armed forces, but respected all they had done for him. Many people still honor our valiant men and women!

That's such a lovely story Val, thanks for sharing. It's sad that we just can't hear more heart-warming stories like this more often.
