*Christmas movies you love*

OK i am the resident scrooge, but i want to know your favorite sappy Christmas movies....mine is any version of "a Christmas Carol". (i like george c. scott the best) because i am a big fan of ebenezer scrooge

. i love it when he sends orphans to the workhouses and the poor to debtors prison, and i really love it when he kicks the little kid carolers and steals tiny tim's crutch!

My favorites for Christmas are National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation and A Christmas Story. Both of these are hysterical, and I always have good laughs watching them. They're like a tradition now.

Very Old Film !!!! [1946] (figures) !!!!

'It's a Wonderful Life' starring James Stewart and Henry Travers (as Clarence the trainee angel)

I'd be really interested to know if anyone has seen this.

It became the classic Christmas movie in the 1970s although it was made in 1946....

that one is mine too. That's a christmas eve d.v.d after I've finished being santa and got everything ready.

This is mine as well, as well as Miracle on 34th street. The new one isn't bad but the old one is just magical:-4

Though saying that I took my little ones to see Elf when it came out and it's hilarious. We had to buy it on DVD when it came out.:wah:

Lauren Graham? Wow!... I haven't seen that one... I like Billy Bob too... he's a good actor...

I love all the traditional Christmas films... I watch them every year... A Christmas Carol, A Miracle on 25th Street, that Whitney Houston film... even the old animated classics... I love Christmas! ...my favorite holiday.

I've come across that a few times... haven't posted... yeah... I go all out for Christmas... and no serious bah humbuggin' here... I can play a lil', for fun though. I'll definitely check out that dvd too... because I like Billy Bob as an actor and Lauren Graham is ...well she does it for me, for some reason!

The only thing I like about X-mas is the massive amounts of food I get to cook and the people I invite to eat it. I hate the whole "spend your money" thing. I am jaded because I'm an X-Mas baby.

I am happy for anyone who enjoys the holiday but PLEASE don't push it on me before the massive food day of Thanksgiving......... BAH HUMBUG........oh - that's another thread. :-5

I love the original Dr Seuss grinch movie, love it love it. Also love the crappy animation of Rudolph, and the little drummer boy the ones Burl Ives narrated. Brings back wonderful childhood memories.

The Sound Of Music, it always gets put on TV 12 times (or so it seams) round the christmas season

A Christmas Story...

thinking about that movie brings back fond memories of my daughter. She was about 8 at the time and loved the part where he got his tongue stuck to the flag pole. Well, she got on the bus the next day, was thinking about that movie and just had to find out IF ones tongue would stick to metal. Sure enough, she licked the bus window and her tongue stuck to the metal window track. Peeled the skin right off her little tongue! The nurse called me from school to explained what happen, that she was fine but sore. Later, I learned they put an announcement over the loud speaker in school, for student NOT to lick bus windows. :wah:

Don't think my daughter will ever forget that moment in her life!

I go for the classics too! As a matter of fact, my girl and I just picked up all the Rankin Bass classics on one 6 disc box set!

But my favorite is still "A Christmas Carol." Although I have to disagree with LC, I think the Patrick Stewart version is the new best version. (Followed closely by the Alistair Simms version from 1955)

Has anyone mentioned "It's a Wonderful Life?"

Although the BBC always aas a few Astaires on at Crimbo, and I love them all, Top Hat especially, then there is always Cassablanca.

Is Canada the only place that plays the Sound Of Music movie on TV every christmas? It's not really a christmas flick but we get it every year like clock work.
