This is a recipe for Punch that dates back to 1828...thought the guys might like it too.
SHERBERT
2 large fresh lemons
Lumps of sugar
Boiling water
FOR 8 PINTS OF PUNCH
4 pints of sherbert
1 pint of rum
1 pint of brandy
2 pints of ale
Rub the sugar lumps over the lemons until they have absorbed all the zest and place in a large bowl
Squeeze the lemons and add the pulp and most of the juice to the sugar lumps.
Mash together thoroughly. Taste. If the mixture is not too acidic add the remaiing juice and mix with boiling water to make approximately 4 pints. Cool and strain. This is called Sherbert.
Mix the brandy and rum in equal quantities and add to the sherbert. Ale can be used instead of brandy or can be added as well to give extra richness. This recipe is very much to personal taste and purse !

I have two:
I posted this one earlier, it is my absolute favorite!
Cut the top off of a bell pepper and steam to slightly soft.
Mix ground beef, red beans and rice, and preferred seasonings or marinade and scoop into pepper. Cover pepper with a slice of Monterey Jack cheese and melt in oven for 2-4 minutes. NO sides needed as this is a full meal. I like to drown mine in hot/wing sauce.
Fried green tomatoes:
Slice large green tomato (you can use red ones too).
Prepare flour (just a little), yellow cornmeal, and cayenne, white and red pepper and mix well. Dip tomato slice in buttermilk and coat with flour/cornmeal mixture. Fry in a iron skillet.
Fattening but DE-licious!

They are "Southern Dishes".
The Peppers are bayou/creole based and the tomatoes are VERY Southern USA related as I am from the great State of Georgia.
I miss these things living in the Washington DC area now.

OK, Here are a couple...
Bacon Spaghetti
Cut up 1 lb of bacon & fry it (not completely to a crisp). Put the bacon, drained, in a bowl. Drain all but about 1-2 tbsp of the grease from the frying pan. Cut up a big vidalia onion & sautee in bacon grease. When that's done, add the bacon, one big can & one little can of diced peeled tomatoes, 1 tsp of tarragon & 1 tsp of salt. I also usually add some garlic. Let cook.
Meanwhile, cook 1 lb of spaghetti. Drain. Combine.
I like to make garlic cheese bread & salad to serve with mine.
Cabbage Stuff
Again, cut up 1 lb of bacon, but this time, put into a pot & cook it. Meanwhile, cut up a medium-sized head of cabbage (about the same size as bacon) & add to the bacon. This will cook in the bacon grease. Cover & let cook on medium or medium-low heat, stirring occasionally.
Meanwhile, cook 1 lb of pasta (your choice, but I use rotini) in another pot. Drain, combine. Serve with soy sauce. This may not sound good, but it's DELICIOUS!!!

This is one of my favorites. Enjoy!!! :-6
Cheeseburger Soup
½ lb. or more of ground beef
¾ cup chopped onion
¾ cup sliced mushrooms
¾ cup shredded carrots
¾ cup diced celery
1 tsp. dill weed
1 tsp. ground mustard/2 tsps. regular mustard
4 TBSPS butter – divided
3 cups chicken broth/boullion
¾ cup ketchup
4 cups diced peeled potatoes
¼ cup flour
16 American cheese slices
1 ½ cup milk
¼ cup sour cream
salt and pepper to taste
Brown beef, drain and set aside. In the same pan, sauté onion, mushrooms, carrot, celery, dill weed, ground mustard and 1 TBSP butter until tender, about 10 minutes.
Add broth, ketchup, potatoes and beef. Bring to boil. Reduce heat, cover and simmer 10-12 minutes or until potatoes are done.
Meanwhile, in microwaveable container, melt rest of butter, add flour, and stir together. Add 1 ½ cups of milk . With a wire whisk, mix together. Mixture will be lumpy, but microwave it on high, 3 mins. at a time, and then whisk. Continue whisking and cooking for 3 mins. at a time until mixture thickens into a white sauce and lumps are gone.
To the white sauce, add the 16 pieces of cheese. Melt cheese into mixture in the microwave (4 to 6 mins.). Stir cheese into white sauce mixture. Add sour cream, salt, and pepper.
Depending on how thick you have cut your potatoes, you may find yourself waiting for them to finish. Stir cheese sauce mixture into the soup when potatoes are done over low flame.
* Mustard and ketchup mixed together is a McDonald’s cheeseburger trick. Feel free to vary it to your taste.
** If you’re anything like me, add all of the leftover sour cream!
*** This recipe doubles well. Also, feel free to use more or less vegetables and potatoes, depending on what you have handy.
****This works nicely in a crockpot, too. Only use 11/2 cups of water with your 3 boulions, if using. Vegetables give off extra liquid in crockpots.

LC, I make shrimp on the grill. I take 1 lb of shrimp & peel it. Then I put it on a piece of tin foil, with some butter, old bay, celery salt, salt, garlic powder, & pepper. Put another piece of tin foil on top & fold them closed together. Put it on the grill for about 15-20 minutes. Then serve with a bowl of melted butter & a bowl of cocktail sauce. YUMMMMY!!!

For those of us that are rice pudding eaters. This is a quick and tasty one. I often make this and eat it for breakfast. I figure it's healthy enough, almost like cereal, but not quite. Enjoy!
Greek Rice Pudding
2/3 cup water
4 cups of milk
3 eggs
1/2 cup of rice/one cup of instant rice/leftover rice from Chinese food
3/4 cup of sugar
Dash of salt
Flavorings: 1 teaspoon of vanilla and 1/3 cup of raisins, or 1 teaspoon of vanilla and 1 teaspoon grated orange rind (or all of the above).
Place the first 3 ingredients in a large saucepan. Bring to a boil and simmer for about 4 minutes until the water is absorbed. Heat the milk and add to rice; cook slowly for 30 minutes, stirring frequently. While the rice is cooking, beat the eggs and add the sugar to the egg mixture. Add the egg mixture to the rice after 30 minutes and cook 5 minutes more. Add the flavorings after cooking.
