Survivor?? What's that. Is it a US/Canadian show or something. Don't believe we've had anything like that over here. What's it about Minks, sounds intriguing. :sneaky:

Ok the unabridged Survivor details by Minks.
Tis an american reality TV show, the pioneer
About 5 or 6 years ago they took 18 nobodies and put them onto an island in the middle of nowhere for 30 days. Threw all kinds of challenges at them, and offered rewards to winners. They were split into 2 "tribes" they pretty much were tossed to the wilderness of the island. This year is year 5 or 6 or 7. Each year a new place. This year Guatamaula. Sooo the 2 teams compete loosing team then has to vote off a member. Then midway through the season, the remaining survivors are merged to one team then it is mano against mano. It is a rather cool show, some folks are just plain dumb, others had strategies, form alliances, etc. It is like big brother but outdoors and you fend for yourself agaisnt the elements. They do not allow Canadians to try out for this show cause after all we know how to survive we live in igloos, hunt for our food and can stand all weather conditions wearing only buckskin ahahahaha
There ya have it. I love the show.

Oh sounds good. Like a desert island version of Big Brother. And you say that this is year 5 or 6 of the show. Must be very popular then by the sounds of it!!

It is one of those you really love it or you really hate it shows. People have been known to scoff when you tell them you are addicted to it.
Now if only Lost would start soon.

Survivor Addict... reporting for duty! I loved season 1.. got pissed off at 2 in the first show and didn't watch... for 2 seasons... picked it up at least 3 seasons ago....
I'm ready..... HIT ME!
(I only watch two shows on TV... Gilmore Girls and Survivor... anything else I catch is accidental- though I love the law & orders and CSI's.. I don't stop what I'm doing to watch them)

Ok things are getting edgy in survivor now, and I am sure like myself the rest of you WANTED that peanut brained Jamie OFF. What were those guys thinking, Jamie is just as strong as Brandon. Man I felt sorry for Brandon. And geeze the next person to make that cute little Rafe cry is going to get it from me ahahahahahahaha I just had to bring this thread current.

we had two series of it over here before it turned into "I'm a celebrity, get me out of here"
minks..we get D list celebs doing it...I've never laughed so much as when I watched Paul Burrel with his hand in hole in a tree...full of huge beetly things...squealing like a girl!

well, when they say CELEBS..they're usually after reviving a flagging career. When they say remote...it's in Australia near a luxury hotel.
And it only lasts for a few weeks. They do have to eat fish eye balls and huge maggots as part of their challenges though.
I preferred the original format. It went on for about eight weeks. It was interesting to see the relationships within the group...who is a leader etc...all very lord of the flies at times.

yes that is why I am still hooked too. NV what did you think last nite? I admire Bobby John for not pistol whipping Jamie.

Jamie is a snake-in-the-grass. Shame on them for voting Bobby John off. A pistol whipping at tribal counsel would have been cool though......:sneaky:
