Bothwell and a few people here knew what was happening, knew i didn't want a lot of sadness or worry for my sake, but since i have come home to a plethora of emails, there is only one way to reply, in a fell swoop. first, i just saw my lovely birthday thread, and i thank everyone of my sweet and loving friends at FG :yh_flower :yh_hugs ...a few days before my birthday i was feeling desperately ill. finally, after trying to ignore it, i had to go to the ER on an emergency basis on my birthday (the 26th)...i was in shock from what later was revealed to be massive systemic septicemia. etiology unknown. all wednesday and thursday i was critical, with a blood pressure never above 50 or 60. i was essentially poisoned and in deep trouble. i was placed in intensive cardiac care because of my heart history. i could not stand or walk and was not always coherent. many blood cultures were done, and to be honest, if i was not such a tough witch i would not have seen the day after my birthday. there was a moment or two i wanted to just let go. my lips and tongue ruptured and bled for days. if i did not know better i would have thought ebola. my blood sugar was over 576, i have never been diabetic, but i am being shot full of insulin. all my organs were infected with unknown bacteria. they let me come home this evening because i was getting some strength back and could walk and i insisted, i have many days of antibiotics and insulin ahead. and the icing on my cake was that they think i have had another heart attack according to enzyme studies and will have to go for another stress test soon. i am home alone, it's hard. but i am determined to overcome this as well, i will not be giving the doctors a hard time, which is how they knew i was in deep doo-doo :D ...i have only this to say, love kept me alive.

being in the hospital on your bday.

I'm glad you're home, bet you are, too, even though you must still fight.

But if I know you, and I think I do, you will rise to the task before you

and conquer!

I love you, Lc, and I know for a fact I ain't the only one!

Yeah yeah, what the **** are you doing on the computer?

I didn't leave you any email because I knew you'd have 394 to read when you got back, and I was trying to limit the amount of time you spent on here, and yet there you sit....mocking me....just a-typin' away like nothing happened. Like I said:

LC, I was wondering what had happened with you -- actually, it was just yesterday. I figured you had to be real busy or something, because I hadn't seen you're posting anything around the garden. I wish that that were the reason.

I'm sorry to hear about how sick you've been. I'm glad to hear that you're getting better, though. I live alone, too. If you need anything or are in too much pain or feeling too bad, talk to angels and tell them exactly what is going on -- really. They are always glad to help. I'm sure you're going to see some surprises and understand what I mean if you just give this a try.

You're in my prayers. Get well, LC! :-6

many thanks for kind concern and support....it's true, i am too tough to die! the year in review...two heart attacks. two strokes. COPD. a little brain aneurysm. being forced to take off my uniform for now. near death on my birthday during a major hurricane. christ, who can say that?? i need to write a book. yes, God loves me, he made me strong as steel. i wonder sometimes what for. but i know what for. today i feel strong and my Bothwell told me i scared the living hell out of him this time, but i am still here. what kills is i was healthy and never sick in my life until last dec. i was twice the age of all the cadets in my police academy class and i kicked their butts. i am coming back with a vengeance, i lost 20 pounds over last few days, all muscle. i am getting that back too! i am not going to be sick again!!! and i hug and thank all of you. ....oh you would have laughed...i am supposed to shoot myself full of insulin several times a day...i was so clumsy and pissed off!! i would go into an alley gun drawn,no problem, no fear, but can't shoot that needle! i just threw it on the damn floor, stomped on it, and said i dare you to make me sick!! LOL

:-5 REALITY CHECK!!! if you need to inject insulin and you dont it WILL make you sick,

you WILL go into a diabetic coma if you refuse to inject.

PLEASE stop being a stubborn mule and take all the meds that you've been prescribed.

You better figure out how to manage the neddle without those injection daily as perscriped you go in to diabetic coma and it happens fast and it usually leads to death... Stop playing games with your life... your are a diabetic now, and that requires constant monitioring wheather you like it or not. :-5

You say you feel good now, why because of medications, and insulin do the injections now and every day for the rest of your life.. this is not something you mess with..

Go to a class and learn how to do it... they are free and necessary.

actually Carla (nurse ratchet :D ) i got a handle on it the past two days, no problem. i'm doing it like a pro, and i do take it seriously...what is interesting is that there is a doubt i am diabetic, they think when i went into systemic organ failure that included the pancreas, which produces insulin. so in a couple weeks i may well find out i am NOT diabetic. in the interim i am doing what i've been instructed so you don't have to come and whup my butt. :-4

Whoaa! I had no idea you had been through all of this LC. You need a lot of prayer (even though it only takes one answered prayer). I sure hope you get to the bottom of what keeps taking you down. I'm also happy to see you here. The good folks here can help keep you from sinking out of sight. They sure helped me.
