Antibiotic Use Linked To Allergies

Post by CVX »

(UPI) -- Michigan scientists say the bacteria and fungi in a person's gastrointestinal tract have a great deal to do with his or her sensitivity to allergens.

A team from the University of Michigan, in a study to be published in next month's edition of the journal Infection and Immunity, report new evidence suggesting that changes in the normal mixture of microflora, bacteria and fungi in the gastrointestinal tract, can intensify the immune system's reaction to common allergens like pollen or animal dander in the lung and increase the risk of developing chronic allergies or asthma.

The team said it suspects that changes in gut microflora caused by widespread use of antibiotics plus a modern high-fat, high-sugar, low-fiber diet could be responsible for a major increase, over the last 40 years, in cases of chronic asthma and allergies in Western industrialized countries.

Antibiotic Use Linked To Allergies

there are so many stupid people who don't understand this fact? they prefer the "lazY' way and go to the doctor and dump more crap in their bodies? Antibiotics get rid of ONE problem, then there is another???sometimes you need a good hit of something, but over-useage is not good? The allergetic person is tired, they don't clean, their environment is full of allergens? Unmotivated they reach for another pill, and another....i don't agree....
Everyone has these on their face? TULIPS.

I really don't understand. They have allergies because they are dirty and don't clean?

Well...I've gone so far in my life without needing antibiotics (though I really should have taken them after last year's bout of bronchitis...my lungs are still healing from that one). Hopefully, when the time comes that I MUST have antibiotics, they will work for me.

Peg, Pickin on me again. There are many remedies other than antibiotics? Antibiotics are needed at times...they can harm the body as they rid of one illness you get another..yeast infections, re-ocurring of the infection, there are side effects. This isn't about home maintence here, but it is similar, as it relates to the body. The HUMAN BODY. Bananas and water if thats all you had would help greatly?

No, not picking on you Paula. Figured I misunderstood it so I asked so you could clarify it, which you did and I thank you for it. Nothing more, nothing less.
