that dam crazy frog again

Reported in the Sun newspaper today . A boy of ten was quizzed by police yesterday on suspicion of racial harrassment - wait for it - for humming the tune to the Crazy Frog ringtone - out side a French womans house . Jordan Lewis sang the "Ring-a-ding-ding"tune while playing with pals in the street. Neighbour Muriel Campbell was convinced the lad was making a racist jibe so she phoned the police to complain. Jordan who is mixed race himself was stunned when two cops arrived in the street in a marked squad car to question him. He said last night "When the police came i was terrified. I wasnt being rude. I was just singing a tune - I think she was wrong to call the police" Mum maria 34,of Milton Keynes,Bucks said "This is a ridiculous over- reaction. The police should be out catching real criminals my Jordan was very confused when he saw the police men, my kids are mixed race and i do not tolerate any form of racism"Mrs Campell a teacher confronted Jordan in the street and told him to stop singing .When he ignored her she called the police. Last night she defended her actions saying "I dont feel calling the police was extreme. In this country French people get called frogs or frenchie all the time. I feel they are being racist it is not a coinidence he did it on purpose- this song is sung at me all the time " The incident happened in a town where two thirds of last years 27.000 crimes were unsolved. But last night Thames Valley Police confirmed the ploice had indeed investigated a complaint of racism ..but decided to take no further action. - I think i will keep me gob shut on this one... wouldnt want to upset anyone!!!

Holy cow I am going to take a nice trip to Europe and whenever anyone says even the vaguest of Antiamerican things, or perhaps sings Yankee Doodle, I am calling the cops. French is a nationality, perhaps an unfortunate one, but easily changeble nonetheless. And you said this woman is a teacher, ah no wonder today's youth are doing so welll.

I do like the French, but they are a contrary crowd. I was in Paris one time (wonderful city, most parisians are lovely) and this geezer started having a go at me coz he thought I was British, so instead of playing along with his xenophobia I gave him the whole Agincourt, Waterloo routine, before I told him I was Irish and to go and be nasty to some Germans instead. Not that I dislike the Germans either mind you, you have to be very careful nowadays don't you, god you can't slag anyone.
