Number Pad On Keyboard

Post by rhiebert-fg »

The number pad on the key board of wife's office lap top doesn't work. She rebooted and connected a hard wire & wireless key board but no solution to an aggravating problem. She admits that she did some settings but can somone help with where or how she can get back to where she needs to fix it?

Email me at rudyxhiebert@yahoo.com if I don't come back here tonight.

Not to be silly but, did she hit the Num Lock key by mistake? Mine will go on all by itself sometimes. Just an idea.

Yes, that was the first thing she tried and many times. Thanks for getting back so quickly.

Try going to my comp'>cont' pan'>system> tab labelled device manager>look down to keyboard>click on the + >highlight the keyboard> click REMOVE.> ok and come out. Now restart your computer and when it starts up again windows will find it and its software and install them, once this has been done.

Make sure its not a stuck key.

Dont understand a word of it myself, just googled keyboard troubleshooting!

Good luck x

If all else fails and you are running windows XP unplug it replug it in and let XP re-install the keyboard.

Or get some canned air and blow things out of the keyboard.
