This month's photos

If I might indulge?

These are from the last couple of weeks. The first captures the final set in the magnificent professional career of Dave Cousins of The Strawbs. Back at the start of the year he was quoted saying "After 55 years of performing with Strawbs, and multiple recent health issues, the time has come for Cropredy to be my final major UK performance to share with everyone - the magic of it all" and the occasion was all one had hoped for, he managed wonderfully and I hope he enjoyed doing it.

The underground photos are from Wookey Hole, areas that hadn't been discovered the previous time I'd been there nearly 60 years ago. Caves are impressive but I'd not like to be the caver who first reached them, they initially required diving gear.

And the stone circle is the Rollright Stones in the Cotswolds.

The camera is handheld, a ten year old first generation Sony RX10 which has been consistently better than I am in photographical terms, I'm the only weak link in that chain. The three Fairport photos were taken well after dark, gone 10pm, on a strongly backlit stage, with the lens fully opened and three stops off the normal exposure in order to mitigate the glare.

The thread is more easily seen if you reduce the browser width to half the screen - I'd juggle the photos with height and width tags if I knew the syntax but changing the browser window dimensions is just plain easier.
