I received an email from LADYCOP today...!!

I won't go into details, since I haven't asked her permission to do so...!!

BUT KEEP HER IN YOUR THOUGHT AND PRAYERS, AS SHE RECOVERS FOR EMERGENCY SURGERY..!! :-4

SHE IS A WONDERFUL FRIEND, AND I LOVE HER DEARLY...!! I WISH HER A SPEEDY RECOVERY... AND A RESTFUL HOLIDAY!! :-4

Carla has been a dear friend since before we came to this Garden. and she is such a caring lady, in her life and in her work. i had a heart attack on Dec. 18. i had to have three stents placed into my coronary arteries. this was a horrible shock for me and those i love, and i am hoping it's not the end of a career. i will know in 6 weeks as i recover. this is deemed stress-related and my sheriff dept. will take care of me during these weeks. i am relatively young and never had a problem like this. i had to call out our rescue guys and they were great, i could not cooperate with them , i was in too much pain. they had to cut off my clothes (which they always wanted to do :rolleyes: ) and tbe 911 call went out over the scanners and radios so the whole sheriff dept. knew and some met me in ER. it was touch and go until i was taken to OR. anyway, i am home now, Carla threatens to come to my house and be the nurse from hell :-4 , and i wish everyone a happy holiday, i am very glad to be here.

LadyCop is a good friend of mine too.........Carla and I love her! The only reason Carla should be taking care of her is that Carla is a LOT younger than I am.

I'd probably drop her I helped her into bed! ...........

Seriously...........Lady is some lady. She's simply the best. I just sent her an email telling her to behave herself...cause I know she hates' being out of things.

Well, LC...........now you have to take it easy.

Have to ask, did you have an English surgeon?

I'm now wondering if you had the new stent surgery, not sure what's so different about it, but one of our surgeons is flying backwards and forwards teaching and doing the ops.

If it was the new one you most likely had a good few people observing the operation, they all get really excited when it's being performed :-3

i have wonderful loving friends here, for which i am very very grateful, and yes it's easy for Carla and Lovemama to threaten me when i'm weak , haha, they wouldn't dare otherwise!

...funny, Letha asked about English surgeon...my sweetheart is an Englishman, and he was on the internet first thing checking out the credentials of my (excellent) American surgeon. i don't think i am allowed to "eat, drink, and be merry" in the Christmasy sense, but a quiet Christmas suits me fine right now...to all who send me good wishes, THANKYOU! :-4 and may your holiday be joyful and bright!

From another workaholic forced kicking and screaming into withdrawal by a medical emergency, it helps a little to imagine (true or not, does'nt matter) that your fellow workers will be forced to do the part of their jobs that you had been doing.

Accept what you can't change, Christmas and loved ones have a tremendous healing effect, savor the good.

This is such a crappy time of the year to get bad news. Got word this morning my dear friend in the UK is going to have a crummy christmas as her dear cousin was among one of those severely injured in Mosul Iraq. Yes he was in "that" Mess Tent. So awful.

I just want to say Blessings to all for the holiday season and put out extra special thoughts to those out there in less pleasant situations. Peace Please.

Good Morning Lady Cop and Merry Christmas

I rec'd the email on Thursday Night. I have lit a candle and said extra prayers for my friend on the east coast...

Do what the Dr. says and you will make a full recovery.. My42 yr old sister in law had open heart surgery two years ago. She had an aortic valve replacement and is doing great now. YOU WILL TOO

Best of everything in the New Year ... and I mean "EVERYTHING" :wah:

It's CHRISTMAS!

Not one person up in my house, it's only 6:30 in the morning and all the present's are wrapped. Hopefully in about 3 hours most of the kids will be here ...and I say kids........mine are grownup but that's what us mama's still call them. :-6

makes me very sad, I was at Disney (The happiest place in the world) and I feel terrible that I didn't find out until much later. Glad you are feeling better now, take good care of yourself.

In New Delhi, christmas was also celebrated in a temple. The temple was decorated with christmas buntings and people from all communities joined the celebrations. It is an Indian gesture to symbolise the co-existence of different faiths in a harmonious manner. With God's idol in the background religious leaders cut a cake and comunity dinner was organized.

i notice you are involved with juvenile corrections...interesting. i am in florida too, my sheriff does not hold juvies unless they have been adjudicated as adults, they are a big pain in the butt to incarcerate because of their rights to privacy, when one gets arrested the whole jail has to stop functioning until they are moved out....the entire facility has to lock down when one goes to the nurse or whatever. they are also mouthy. i do not care to have anything to do with them if i can avoid it.

Surest Gupta. I too am so glad that you wern't in that part of India. It is so tragic what happened and everyone here in the US are so concerned. My son travels every year to Indonesia for a wonderful surfing trip. He surf's on a board and the waves there are magnificient! I would have gone crazy if he had been there when this happened. I don't believe we'll ever know how many were killed.

Already I've read that there are over 2000 Americans not accounted for. I think that figure is probably high but that is what I read in the news today.

We have one young man who live's very close to me that made it......he was with fiance and they were able to get high on a hill........

God Bless all these families...........so sad, so many children lost!

The tragedy, no doubt, occurred in my country and other neighbouring countries but it has affected people from other parts of the world also, the tourists to Tsunami affected areas. My heart goes to all of them. May God rest their souls in peace.
