Well some of us figured that out long ago, pity he is trying to portray one, I think he has offended some or our devout believers on this forum.

I actually NEVER said I was a priest...I am catholic and a believer.

Just because I joke around and actually have a sense of humour does not make me any less of a devout catholic.

Referring to me as a priest was all part of banter that was taking place at the time.

Thanks for being so welcoming ........... then withdrawing teh sentiment

Look I don't want to argue with anyone but I was born a catholic, raised a catholic and worship as a catholic.

I may 'play' on here but my faith is inherent.

Is everyone insinuating that you can't possibly be catholic and have a sense of humour?

I got hit pretty hard the other day for having a point of view similar to the one you just expressed. I have to say that I think you are right on. I'm not a Catholic either but still don't see sacrilege as humor.

Those who see sacrilege as humor have every right to use it that way and I'll be happy to defend their right. I also have the right to point it out.

OK let's all agree to disagree.

I still don't see why it is sacriledge when I am in fact catholic, went to catholic school, have parents who can quote the bible at the drop of a hat.

If I believe in it, live it, worship it...I am not mocking my own religion. So when i say Bless You, I damn well mean it.

Anyway I'm not even going to defend or agrue the point any more, Clint you are right...we are allentitled to an opinion / individual tastes & humour.

Ok Here is the skinny Devout, you offend me. Your style of posting is not a style I like nor is it a style we see here in FG. Plain and simple. If you are mocking your own religion so be it (you are mocking mine too), that is your choice, my point is you have offended others. Practicing or not.

Sincerely, Minks Born, raised and non practicing Catholic.

oh sure, I'll throw in my 2 cents...

I find nothing wrong with sexual jokes by christians, catholic or whomever... I think where it all went wrong was the role playing of priest and worshipper turned sexual... EWWW!

I have a deep strong faith.. and if you'll go to the pub you'll see I can SLUT with the best of them... but I would never mock my faith in the way that is shown here, by using sexual inuendo in pastoral context...

i think.

:)

Anyway... most people here are loving, and nice and forgiving. I hope you will stay and all this will be a thing of the past...

Hi- by the way... Sweet, here.

Hmmm...I was raised seventh-day adventist, went to a baptist school and a lutheran school, my grandpa practically memorized the friggin' bible and I am currently agnostic. What does that have to do with so-called humor being in poor taste? I'm a biker for god's sake and I found the turn this thread took to be totally tasteless.

I don't think you are either, I think you're showing an all too true side of it, again, not something to be joked about, frankly.

Well DC, I thought I'd be nice and welcome you to the Garden like everyone else.

One problem, though. I don't like you or kitty. How can I form an opinion of someone I haven't even met yet you ask?

Simple....I read this entire thread. It's nothing but a sexual innuendo chat room. If I wanted to see cyber-sex, I'd go on America Online.

Here at the Garden, we are very friendly, but not sexual, with each other. It's called being "civil" and "ladylike" and "gentlemanly". I'm sure that you think ithat your posts were innocent good-natured fun. And I might even agree with you if it had just been one or two posts. After all, I've seen a little flirting here on occasion.

But a whole 6 page thread about two people "getting it up" and "giving each other a hand" or "only a hand?" isn't cute or funny. It's actually kind of gross.

Get a cyber-room.

Agreed. I think I called it sacrilege when it was really the sexual content mixed with the religious overtone that was so inappropriate here.

Yup. That's it.

I also think that a whole group of newbies who know each other thought they'd have some fun and try for the shock value effect. Sorry to disappoint, gang, we've seen way worse.
