As I sit here drinking my iced tea I have to laugh at my experiences with this drink. I know you Brits shudder at the thought of iced tea. I have been to California and asked for iced tea, only to be grossly disappointed by being served just as it states, "iced tea" when what I later found out I wanted was called nestea, the powedered stuff we just add water too, or the highly sugared tea drink we get out of a bottle that is manufactured by the company called nestea, or liptons up here in Canada. In Canada, when we ask for iced tea, we get the sugary pre-fab drink automatically, tis what we expect.
Funny how it is different everywhere.

I've never been too keen on iced tea or hot lemon tea. Prefer PG tips with a dash of milk...NO sugar.

Funny, I like them all depending on what I'm in the mood for. Winter's coming and I'll be brewing lots of real tea, I love the smell, and I can only drink so much coffee. :yh_coffee

I love sun tea, although in the winter I can do with the Lipton cold brew bags which are great. I like to add lime to mine.

Jab what a proper tea drinker you are!!
the rest of you with your "Iced Tea", well it's an outrage, and I expect a somewhat French custom designed to undermine the drink that made this country great. I suspect this fashion for cold tea comes from you colonials fishing tea out of Boston Harbour after we had gone and trying to drink it.
Lets get this clear, if you are posh you drink it out of your best china making sure you ALWAYS warm the pot.
If not its out of a mug and stong enough to stand a spoon in.
As for "Fruit" teas they are the devils work and anyone who drinks them should be punished by having to roll an eccles cake from Lands end to John O Groats

Yorkshire is a place in the UK.
They make their own tea which is lush.
Tony benn is a Politician here who drank so much tea he was hospitalised once.
Hope that clears a few things up. :wah:

I'm probably the only Southerner you will ever meet that cannot stand sweet tea....HATE it! I'm not that fond of iced tea. It's better hot with a squeeze of lemon.
I have become quite fond of Chai lately.

I can't stand sweet tea either... I'm a Yankee though. Chai is nice... just as long as it's not that nasty tea they served when I was over in Mumbai... I prefer hot tea... British style sometimes with a lil' cream in the morning but that's about all I want added... same with my coffee.
and btw... if you prefer fruit in your hot tea...? ...brush your teeth or rinse your mouth immediately after! Unless you have dentures then it probably doesn't matter too much.

Ah yes, Long Island iced tea!!! Great brew!!! I was at the airport many years ago, when my friend introdiced me to them. He said they were strong, but they slipped down so easily I said that he was crazy, so then I had "3" 10 oz glasses of those buggers!
Well, it was time for me to board the plane, & when I tried to stand up, that's when it hit me all at once! Walls spinning, floor spinning, "head" spinning, I nearly missed the plane, I boarded late, was the last one on!!:wah:
(Oh yeah, don't remember a thing about the flight, missed the meal & everything, slept all the way!!)

Hey Minxs:
You forgot the most important one!
In New Mexico (265 days of sunshine average) we put out a glass gallon jar with three teabags in it, sit it out on the porch and let the sun's warmth brew it ever-so-slowly. It's called SunTea!
The best part about it is that the slowbrewing gets rid of all the acidity and it won't make your stomach ache!:D
