Spring is really slow in warming and I just can't wait.

Two years ago I had a horrible experience and last year did’t bother gardening.

I'm back.

Just about 10 days ago I bought three tomato plants. I had to keep them inside. Finally looked good to move outside to get some sun. Left they outside overnight and I believe I killed them. They are still in pots as it I believe one many come to life.

Yesterday I bought two more plants as things are looking better tempature wise. This morning I was out planting with what seemed good with light rain and termp of about 53f /11.7c. Low night tempaturs are expected to stay above freezing.

There is a wind coming from the north and the board is positioned east/west.

The plant towards the left is actually planted horozontally, considering it was way to scrany and long to go vertical. Looking towards the upper left is where I planted potoes.

"Planted horizontally" ? Were you once a lumberjack ?

I have planted my own seeds this year, a selection of tomatoes and some runner beans all coming along nicely on the windows cills in the house. Far too early as yet to put them outside here.......unless somebody knows better. I lost a lot of plants one year being impatient.

Now I know why they call this Forum Garden.

Frankly I don't remeber exactly what I was looking for but came across this and other along the same lines.

I liked this one best. It happened that one plant I had was already curved and it seemed to help when I left it in the barn overnight pointing upwards.

I knew I was pushing it as last night temp went to 31F and the scene is not a pretty one. So to spare the faint of heart I am not posting any pictures of the carnage. No reason to despair as I am confident in the not to distance future I will be posting pics my favorite produce.

My tomatoes are green cherry sized things, I have spotted a couple of mini runner beans too though.

I did say it's Not Home&Garden,

To the left are tomato plants. To the right are potato plants.

Potato plants are beaten by wind and hail, but still, more than I will need.

I went to take pictures of the tomatoes, but all being green and buried among the leaves you can't see them in the pictures.

Yea, it does indeed look like weeds.

Gotta take a closer look.

These are the sorriest potato plants I ever have seen.

Beat down by wind and hail.

Already showing fruit, still early.

We had a lot of rain recently. Lazy, I really did nothing till today as we had like a week of no rain and went to water.the tomato plants.

Guess what I found?

I didn't know tomatoes were mostly vines which grew all over the ground.

More on the vine.

You didn't pinch out the tops ?

I have been eating mine for a couple of weeks now, after hardly any rain with and watering them sparingly (due to being concerned of a water shortage) it rained hard and many swelled up and split.

I shall have to try to photograph them.

I tossed plenty of split tomatoes. Maybe a third of them my bounty.

We started some Tomatoes and Peppers this spring, but several Hailstorms seem to come at just the right time to dispatch whatever meager crop we had developing.

I remember seeing some really nasty hail storms on the news. Right after I planted my first tomatoes we had a bad frost. I brought two plants in my house and eventually planted them with my newer plants. Never really wanted four plants.
