Our Golowan festival should be getting bigger and bigger every year but it seems to have got stuck.
Even so, today was a day of Mazey madness!!
Mazey Day 2017: Here's a round up of today's best bits - who can you spot? | Cornwall Live
Lots of videos of the crazy parades. There's also lots of live music all over the town and down at the dock and promenade :guitarist

Now that looks fun. I like the fish .What's a Golowan Festival? And what's a Mazey?
and who are we to be looking for?
and who are we to be looking for?

The 'radical' left just wants everyone to have food, shelter, healthcare, education and a living wage. Man that's radical!....ooooohhhh Scary!

The Golowan Festival is in celebration of St John (or Jowan if you're true cornish) it can also be viewed as a solstice celebration.
It all starts out on the Friday night with an election of a mock mayor followed by Fireworks down at the harbour.
Because I live right in town I get the 8.30am wake up call the day after from the Golowan Band as they walk through all the streets playing their instruments. This is the call to get up and party lol There are several parades throughout the day and all the school children have spent weeks preparing and building the big papier mache models that are carted through the town, the parades are actually very special.
There's entertainment going on everywhere, live bands out in the open air, street entertainers it's quite a large festival nowadays but its not very widely advertised outside of the area.
