It is a curious label, gay. I have no idea what it's intended to describe.
Does it describe a behavior or a temperament?
If the former, does it imply a repetitive sexual practice or is it a label for life after a single event?
If it's temperamental it's obviously a scale, and yet it's used as an on-off truth. As labels go I think it causes more confusion than it clarifies.
I'll stick to my "would I invite that person to dinner" test and Boy George is welcome any time he's free. Unlike, for example, so-called David Cameron who is most definitely not, being as he is a self-obsessed pariah with the moral code of a minor amoebal infection.
Sexuality is only relevant on a dance floor and even then it's a pretty transient frisson. Been there, got the t-shirt.

You are referring to the GAY word I suspect.
It has become an euphemism for homosexuality, which can be confusing.
You would invite someone to dinner that a few posts ago you claim not to know ?
Boy George once famously said he would rather have a cup of tea than sex.
And you think sexuality is only relevant on the dance floor ?
Funny dances you go to

I've just been listening to a report on the World Blind Tennis Championship in... Spain, I think. They mentioned a Grand or Costa something which had a Spanish sound to it.
Anyway. The report left me puzzled. Is this just blind players, or is the format intended for blind audiences to follow as well? Is there a blind umpire? Blind ball boys? I'm sure they're not meant to be called ball boys these days but I'm buggered if I know what the right term is.
Not the most informative radio report of all time.

Watched a doco on Nixon the other week made during Obama's first term (sowell before Trump). It concentrated on the years leading up to his impeachment and the way he left the white house. What struck me was news footage and interviews with people on the street, the denials of politicians, the sackings of important members of government and the clandenstine requests of cover ups.
I thought yesterday history is repeating itself.

From the footage im seeing , that was my first thought.
I was wondering if the UK has the same rules as Oz? Concert organizes supply and pay for their own security.
Getting reports of a nail bomb,( hospitals reporting injuries are consistent) then suicide bomber??? Lots of leg injuries
19 dead and over 50 injured.
It would be pretty revolting to think that someone would target a concert with lots of kids at it.

I had to look to find out. I'm sure Dirk Bogarde played him too opposite James Robertson Justice.

Pah. Putting Douglas Rattray in the pillory from nine to five will give him a day out in the sunshine, discover how many Canterbury residents would like to lob squishy tomatoes at his head and bring about a remarkable transformation in the quality of management decisions at the council for years after. I'd be happy to see UKIP get more votes in this general election than it's ever had in its life before, if it take most of those votes from Conservative candidates. Besides, Paul Nuttall is a self-implosion just waiting for an opportunity.

Why isn't the same thing being done about India? They've had a nuclear arsenal for decades, they have a Space Program, they can deliver warheads anywhere on the nearest three planets beside this one. What's the reason for not taking care of the issue?
That's not a deflection, by the way, it's the beginning of a sensible conversation about your question.

India isnt threatening the rest of the world. Granted, one of their reasons was self defense. But N Korea has openly threatened and aimed at surrounding countries and openly threatened America and her allies. Coupled with whats happening in the South China sea in the last couple of years its disconcerting.
The 'radical' left just wants everyone to have food, shelter, healthcare, education and a living wage. Man that's radical!....ooooohhhh Scary!

EEeewwwhhhh..... a very good film if youre into that kind of genre.... 'Hounds of love'
Not for me, too gut churning, and so well done apparently that many wont go to see it. sometimes directors and actors can do too good of a job.

Every country on earth which possesses nuclear weapons has reserved the self-declared right of first use with no warning against anyone it chooses to go to war with. Do you think this paragraph is false in any respect?
North Korea has invariably expressed conditions which would bring it to make a nuclear first strike, it has never said it will attack any country without making that threat conditional on some future event. The conditional event it most often some foreign action which North Korea would consider to be an act of war. Do you think this paragraph is false in any respect?
When has North Korea aimed anything more powerful than a field gun at any country other than the immediate vicinity of the Demilitarized Zone in South Korea, and then only when it claimed to be responding to fire from South Korea? Is that any different to what Israel does across the Lebanese border, or India or Pakistan in Kashmir? Your "aimed at surrounding countries" in a North Korean nuclear context needs explaining - what do you mean? Which country has North Korea aimed at, with what? Did it aim and not fire? Did it fire and intentionally miss?
You mistrust the North Korean leadership, yes, I get that bit. I don't see that as a reason why North Korea should cease to exist, or that some more powerful country should "take care of the issue".

We need for China, or Russia, to step up and set this little guy straight.
Besides, he is mostly just talking trash. If he does actually have material to make bombs, he doesn't have enough to take out more than one City, and he has to realize that if he dares to push the button it will be a matter of minutes before he and his little country cease to exist. More important, there has to be some people within his circle of influence that have figured this out, as well.

India and Pakistan both have the bomb. They hate each other with a passion, but they have never talked about bombing each other. At least not in public.

The chairman of India’s National Security Advisory Board, Shayam Saran, has warned Pakistan that if it ever uses tactical, i.e. battlefield, nuclear weapons against Indian forces, it will be the target of an all-out Indian nuclear attack.
In an April 24 lecture titled “Is India’s nuclear deterrent credible?, Saran declared, “f [India] is attacked with such [tactical nuclear] weapons, it would engage in nuclear retaliation which will be massive and designed to inflict unacceptable damage on its adversary.
