24-year-old Simon Berry, from Sheffield, has just successfully achieved the world record for the highest bungee dunk.

By which we mean he’s jumped from the highest bungee length to dunk a biscuit into a cup of tea.

Weird and pretty amazing at the same time! Either he did many many test dunks, or extensive calculations to determine the exact length required to make that dunk!

Can I add the headline to the list of incompetent journalists?

It wouldn't be a world record if it only constituted the highest dunk in Berkshire

If it was the first one ever recorded, that would, in itself, define it as being a World Record - even if it was in Berkshire. There are loads of inane activities going on every day being done solely to create a World Record - such as most baked beans eaten whilst jumping on a pogo stick, foe instance.

I apologise, I've just looked it up and it was a new record - I hadn't realised.

I still think it's the highest in the world rather than the highest in Berkshire though.

Have you morphed into Spot ?

He had to attain the new record somewhere, he did it in Berkshire.

Have revisited the site and the headline doesn't mention Berkshire, I think it must be included in the link.......or something.

Yes, it's in the text that overlays the link on the screen but I still reckon that specifying that it's the highest in Berkshire belittles the achievement :-)
