what advice would you give your 13. year old self?

A book has been released by a 15 year old where she asks people in the limelight / her heroes/ people she looked up to.....what advive they would give their teenage self.

Mine would be.... theres no such thing as "i cant"... and dont listen to those who say "you cant"..

Mine would be, don't make a habit of correcting people's grammar and spelling. They will hate you for it.

I'd have tipped myself off as to the type of work I do & enjoy best - Customer Service. It's something I only learned I had a flair for in the past few years. Just think of all that wasted time.

No betty.... no. I apologised upfront , when i came back. I have very little opportunity for data on my phone. I have no internet nor computer. I have to rush my posts because the data on my phone is intermittnt. You have no idea of how many posts i have to repeat because even my phone cant hold a connection. I need to rush my posts.

If you are saying i dont belong here because of my governments failures then so be it. But i think those in more fortunet situations shouldnt poke fun or stir up trouble !

Ill leave if you want but if you dont want me to then maybe you should tell others that circumstances are different around the world and should pull their god damned heads in.

I access the forum via my phone regularly.

And long ago, I learned that admonishing people for spelling, punctuation and capitalization on their posts in forums and such was generally counterproductive and considered quite rude.

Please assure me that I'm not going to see "texting" on the subtitles of the nightly news any time soon.

AhaH! understand completely. I grew up in a family with several of those. A lot of it rubbed off.

There is an art to the restraint needed when participating in discussion forums and such and NOT giving in to the temptation to correct people.

But, much latitude must be given to those who try to communicate via the modern marvels of the day.

I work pretty hard at spelling and grammar when texting on my mobile, too. It is a tough job. Auto-correct can prove to be a challenge. Many today lack the patience to even try.

The device is not the problem intermittent access to the internet is the problem.

I see the same problem with my phone. I moved to an area where I actually had to change service to get a decent signal. Reminds me of my first cell phone. I had to walk up to the top of the hill to get decent service, back then.

Im forty seven years old. I do not need to be 'admonished' by anyone.

My handwriting is much much better than yours, ill stake my life on it. My typing (without auto correct) is extremely good)

MY TEXTING is **** and will remain so. It is not my forte .

The device i use is not the problem..... it is the connection to an internet connection , and having to be extremely quick in my posts before it drops out........ im lucky to get fleeting 3g to my phone in my own home.

Australia was 31 on the internet table (accessability wise) we are now 64 on the world table......third world countries have better access than we do .

There are children reverting to school of the air again because their internet access is now down to about an hour a day.......i used to have a landline pho.e..... telstra has told a neighbour and myself that its not worth fixing the degrading lines. I used to have internet to the house but there is no access to even the simplist form .

So i will post here as i have down since returning to this forum.

LIVE WITH IT!!!!!!! But if per chance my posts stress you to the extent of extreme ill health then so be it.

I think it's your understanding that's "flawd". Schools are there for a purpose, not just for looking out the window.
