I am amazed, I thought those windmill thingies were just for show.

It is really quite amazing isn't it, we have reams of these monsters in the southern parts of Alberta and they are multiplying.

There are hundreds of the things popping up in Central Kansas, and Eastern Colorado.
Though one of the Texas congressmen was saying we need to stop using them as they will slow the wind down and cause the earth to heat up.

I'm not surprised that it was a Texas congressman.

Is that based on the butterfly chaos effect ?

Does no one ever laught out loud at these guys? I would have thought they would be more likely to slow the earth's revolution cauing even more problems. Looks like we're going ahead with oil fracking regardlesss all the green energy initiatives have already been stopped. At least they're not trying to build more nuclear power stations in scotland.

I always thought those massive propellors were there to counter Continental Drift & to push the land masses back together, so as to form a truly United World.

We have a lot of these in our desert where we also have very high winds at times.

QnA (show on tv)....... minister from Queensland. (Equilivent to a congressman from Texas) was arguing against climate change.
Who was he aguing against? .....Brian Cox! It was hilarious. Eventually Cox threw his notes over to the minister and told him Heres your empirical evidence!
The minister argued that NASA has corrupted the so called evidence.

here we are told that bats and birds keep flying into the windmills, so we will be spending millions to revamp the paddles that with luck will deflect our flying friends.

There was an article in the local paper about Apple's new campus that is under construction. The locals call it the "space ship campus". Solar was part of the design and they said that it will be 100% powered by renewable energy (and it's a big campus). The article also mentioned other Apple facilities that are fully powered by renewable energy. Apparently, there wasn't enough sun at the North Carolina data center, so the built a huge biogas fuel cell power station for it.

Breakthrough for Scottish tidal power generation - FT.com
The UK could produce as much as half of its electricity needs from the waters around our islands and although we have several companies with world-leading expertise, we continue to invest less in marine energy than the annual subsidy to London's two main opera houses. The CCC has pointed out that the wave and tidal power industries could be a major source of jobs and income for Britain, but the country needs to invest several hundred millions a year over the next decades for this success to be achieved.
Making waves: Shetland tidal power breakthrough is another world first for Scotland | News | The National
According to the International Energy Agency, marine energy could generate 20 to 80,000 Terawatt hours (TWh) of electricity from tides, currents and waves as well as changes in temperature and salt content. To put that in perspective, current global electricity demand is rated at around 17,500TWh.
And what dioes the uk givernment do? Cut funding to green energy research and go ahead with fracking oh and build new nuclear power stations that we already know don't work.
